It's Gelgoog Week! |

|
04/23/04 A LATE UPDATE: Well I tried to get this ready for thursday however I had some other work to finish up. With Johnny Ridden's Gelgoog as my focus I decided to make the rest of the reviews follow the same theme. All of the following reviews are or include a Gelgoog:
At the Left is a picture of upcoming reviews. With finals looming around the corner I may not be able to have an update next week. In terms of new figures I'm still looking out for the Full Armor Gundam FA-78-1 that should be out now. Hopefully I can add that among the next reviews soon:-). Keep a lookout for new updates as they come along.
4/21/04 Checking in: I've been spending a lot of time in the lab so I haven't been able to put any new updates lately. I picked up Aile Strike Gundam & Skygrasper. Unfortunantely I missed the first episode so I don't know much about the series. I'll try to put up some new reviews on Thursday. My review on Johnny Ridden's Gelgoog is almost done with the time I've had to work on it so check in and I'll have some other reviews to accompany it.
4/04/04: REVIEWS ARE IN! With some new domestic MSiAs soon begin to hit shelves I decided to put up a few reviews of current MSiAs that are available in stores now. I also put up the first figure that set off the trend of version 2 figures that we've come to look forward to in MSiA design. Here they are:
Next week one of the reviews will include Johnny Ridden's High Mobility Gelgoog and hopefully I'll snag one of the new MSiAs if they've arrived here yet.
4/4/2004: Upcoming update: 4 reviews will be up later this evening. Sorry for the delay but keep checking back for new updates.
Gundam SEED will show on cartoonnetwork on April 17th. Toys should be hitting the shelves at any time. Some UC figures may be due out around the same time as the SEED figures I'll keep you posted on upcoming news that come to my attention
I'll have a review on Johnny Ridden's High Mobility gelgoog soon. Plus I will have Pyscho Gundam shipped to me soon.
3/27/04 Update: Sorry I was a little late with the reviews but here they are:
I'm currently waiting on a high mobility Gelgoog to be shipped in so a review on an asian release is close by.
I also noticed Gundam SEED figure comercials so I guess their release is near. I'll keep you updated on when they hit stores.
03/24/04 SEED Models out: Saw some Gundam SEED Models out at Target. They looked like they were 1/144 scale though I didn't see the price on them.
At Toys r Us You can find reissued releases of transforming Epyon and Wing Gundam MSiAs as well as the battle scarred G gundam figures, All in the red blister packs that the figures are now coming out in. I'll supply a picture when I buy one but that will be when I find the transforming wingZero or when Bandai of America stops concentrating on SD and release some new MSiAs.
I'll post one or two MSiA reviews on Friday evening so stay on the lookout for new updates!
03/16/04 Busy Week: It has been a busy week so I have only been able to make one new review. I'll have more out next week but in the meantime enjoy!
Keep checking on more updates:-)

2/06/04 evening: Late Night Update! Thats right! First Review of the Year and it is on an Import MSiA. I'll try to have another review up on Sunday between some projects I'm working on. And without further delay:
Enjoy and stay tuned for more reviews!
2/6/04: The show will go on! Well, I'm still without a camera compatable with XP I'm going to go ahead and write out some reviews and post them as early as Friday evening. I hate having this site stagnate like this especially since I have some great new MSiAs to talk about. So the next few reviews will be sans photographs but at least they will be something added Content I've been dying to add to the site. So stay tuned and with some luck I might be able to borrow a cam from the office.
Oh and By the way A little added info for the RX-78-5 Gundam G5; the figure as nice as it seems lacks the Vers 2.0 joints that most new MSiAs are sporting so it seems like a slight let down for me.
1/26/04: Happy Birthday! This site has completed its second year of operation. With 46 Reviews under our belt I hope to exceed the amount of reviews we had in 2003. I Wish I had a working cam so that I could present a review of a mobile armor as I did for the first review of the Site. I have just recieved Elmeth or as its listed on the box:"MAN-08 Mobile Armor Lalah Sune Use" in the mail today. It would have made for a good review. It is a decent Mobile Armor, spring loaded 2 funnel launchers in the rear and featuring sounds of the Elmeth from the Mobile Suit Gundam Series. Its a well made respresentation of the mobile armor and recommended only for collectors who are either a fan of this armor or one who just wants to complete the set. I say this due to its ackward design ( is ugly too strong of a word for this thing?).
I've also archieved the news pages and updated my collection listing on all my new MSiAs. Stay tuned for more updates!
1/25/04: Checking in. Well I still have not fixed the camera problem yet. I found some pictures of some MSiAs I took a while back and will have a release of some reviews sometime next week. I'll probably do some additional touch ups to the site as well since there were some changes that I thought had already been made. The only other concern is getting my old editor back up and running.
some of my ebay items have come in. The new GP01 Gundam, Shin Matsunaga's Zaku II high mobility, Gundam RX-78-5 are all very good figures. Some quick comments to make about them:
- The irony of calling a Zaku high mobility when the knee articulation is slightly limited compared to the normal ZakuII
- GP01 is a vast improvement to the Domestic GP01 in terms of Articulation, Accessories, and in looks. This is not a retooled GP01
- The RX-78-5 Gundam is also impressive both in accessory loadout(although the beam rifle is prone to warping), and in articulation. The only aesthetic drawback to this figure is the traits shared with Gundam RX-78-2. Namely the almost plain-looking legs really don't seem to match up with the rest of the figures design that resembles more of a meaner Gundam RX-78-4NTAlex.
Any of the problems I've listed are minimal and don't really take away from the overall Quality of the figures. Bandai has come a long way with this line and I hope we get some releases soon so that collectors here who don't buy from import stores can see the improvments as well.
Some sites are saying that the Zeta line was delayed until October 2004 and that Gundam SEED will show in the states before Zeta, While annoyed at this it just means that maybe SD Gundam may not be clogging up the shelves soon and make room for these releases. Well that does it for right now. I'll dropsome cosmetic updates that I had ready prior to moving and put them up throughout the week. Reviews of some older MSiAs that have yet to be reviewed will be among them if time is in my favor. So Stay tuned and as my orders come in I'll drop some notes about them as well!
1/15/04: Zako Zako! In effect, that sums up the current trend Bandai America has taken as of late. With the hiatus Gundam has taken on the homefront it is easy to lose interest when all that appears on the TV are the tales of Captain Gundam and Company. Though I must say Superior Defender Gundam isn't the only source of the slowing of productivity in this site. In fact if this point of time has served to do it seems more aimed at presenting retooled figures to fill collection holes and present some improved figurse never before released or released only in limited numbers. After finishing a move, some computer issues, and with college graduation approaching soon time just hasn't been available to update the site.
Behind the scenes my collection has continued to grow with the acquisition of Auda, Abdul, and Rashid Maguanac Customs, Sandrock ver2.0, Epyon 2.0, and Wing 01 ver2.0. All of the retooled releases were given the ver2.0 joint treatment with Wing 01 and Epyon able to now transform. Wing 0 seems to be the shortpacked figure of these releases that is if it has been released at all. These figures will be added to the already long list of MSiAs I need to review.
Import MSiAs have been released in fair number, providing us with new figures never made before as well as MSiAs given the ver 2.0 treatment their earlier encarnations were not afforded. With Ebay and HLJ at my disposal I've gotten the new GP01 Gundam, Shin Matsunaga's Zaku II high mobility, Gundam RX-78-5, Elmeth, and my ones are now set on Dozzle and Garma's Zaku II units.
The imports have helped renew my motivation at bringing you up-to-date MSiA reviews. The only setback is replacing my camera and a couple of new software programs to install and do the job. Stay tuned for an update hopefully around the weekend!
