My goodness what a year it’s been!
We hope this year has brought every one of you much peace, joy and love!
We have enjoyed hearing
from many of you and have even managed to see more than a few of you this year during the execution of our exhausting travel-log.
As many of you know from our website updates Walter has been working under contract
six hours away in San Antonio all year ~ keeping all of our family, in one form or another, “Flying the Friendly Skies”
on a weekly basis. It has been a challenging, different, fun and rewarding year! For
those of you who don’t know, Walter is a Project Manager in the I.T. field.
Our home away from home in San Antonio is our fifth-wheel travel trailer across
the street from Walter’s work at the USAA mega-complex. RV life hasn’t been too bad…We have not only enjoyed
Sea World and the adjoining Water Park on a regular basis but we have also enjoyed day trips into the neighboring hill country,
as well as a trip several hours south to the beach at South Padre Island and Matamoros, Mexico.
We enjoyed a family trip to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for the Fourth of July holiday (Second year in a row), with Shari and Garrett staying on for a month with Mom and Dad Sloane who moved
to the North
Country in
mid-2003. We enjoyed a Montgomery family reunion three hours south at our cousins ~ complete with all the trimmings (Float
Trips down the river, ATV riding, Dutch oven cooking, horseshoes and hot-tubbing), and spending time with brother Scott and
family. Garrett took his first trip to an amusement park while there (The airplane
ride was his favorite – duh!) and we have started to worry that he will grow up thinking amusement and water parks are
the norm!
There have also been trips to Las Vegas / Southern Utah and a Thanksgiving Trip to Central and Southern California….
Enter the Holiday Season and here we are….arriving in one big whirlwind!
Time really seems to fly these days!
Garrett, the absolute light of our lives is now 2 ½ years young and we just want
to “Bottle his Cuteness” as he is growing so quickly! He is a very
happy-go lucky kid and is full to the brim with personality. He seems to draw a crowd everywhere he goes! Of course his favorite thing to do is go on the airplane and he always manages to “Adopt” some
unsuspecting soul along the way, as he has never met a stranger. He also attends “School” two half-days a week
and loves to play with all his friends. He is “Off the Charts” big (In size 4 clothes!) and has a very quick mind
and wit. He’s as much Daddy’s “Little Man” as he is Mommy’s “Little Buddy”!
Shari is still doing Medical Billing for brother Spencer’s clinic part-time
from home as well as being a full-time mom and managing creatures, daily affairs and children alike down home at “The
Ranch”.
We are all about to begin a family adventure and dive head first into Property
Management as we have decided to begin investing in real estate ~ initiating ourselves with the purchase of three duplexes….at
once!
We are looking forward to celebrating a leisurely Christmas with our families
here at home and will be celebrating our six year anniversary with a week-long Cruse to the Western Caribbean New Years Day
after New Years Eve in a Galveston beach-front hotel. Of course our little chaperone will be making sure that we behave ourselves
as we couldn’t bear to leave him behind!
We think that is certainly enough hustle and bustle for one year so….that
brings us to now and to the part where we wish you a very Merry Christmas and BEST wishes for the New Year!
We are so grateful to have so many friends and loved ones in our lives and we
thank you for being a part of us!
May the year 2005 bring you all the best and may we all remember the “Reason
for the Season”!!!!
Love,
The Guess Family
