OBITUARY
SLOANE, LINDA RAY MONTGOMERY, (Age), graduated mortality March 28, 2024 in Denton, Texas, and was born August 23,
1938 in Dallas, Texas. Linda was born the daughter of William “Ray” Montgomery and Faith Lurline
Carter of Dallas. She married Jack Adair Sloane on January 11, 1963 in Dallas, Texas and is an active member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was sealed to her husband for time and all eternity
in the Salt Lake City LDS
Temple on April 29, 1977. Linda is a devoted wife and mother and above
all a follower of Jesus Christ. She graduated from University of Texas
in Austin in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education and was a runner up in the Miss Austin competition. Linda worked in retail sales as a personal shopper
for 18 years and was proud to call Neiman Marcus her occupational “Home” for more than a decade. She is a past
resident of Dallas & Decatur, Texas, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Evergreen, Colorado, Orem, Utah and Jerusalem, Israel-where she lived
with her family for several years in the late 70’s while supporting her husband in his education efforts. Her favorite
saying is “Cute Counts” and she made it count all her days with crafts, her wardrobe and impressing all who know
her by decorating even canes and walkers with her wares. She has an incredible gift for being positive and making those around
her feel lifted up, encouraged and supported. A favorite saying is than she had never “had an all bad day”. Her most favorite things are ladybugs, blue-sky days, Snuffers cheese fries and Mexican
food as well as spending time with her family-also dubbed “The Pack”. Her positive presence will be greatly missed
but we know we will see her again & that we will feel her close! Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband
and an infant son Stephen Sloane. She is survived by daughter Shari Guess and husband Walter of Rhome, son Spencer Sloane
and wife Connie of Dallas, Scott Sloane and wife Karen of Coeur d'Alene, ID, 8 grandchildren: Kaci, Sheldon, McKaylee, Garrett,
Avery, Liam, Lily, Sydney, Ethan, Billy, Isabel & Liam, 8 Bonus Grandchildren, 3 Great- Grandchildren: Paislee, Huxlee & Elaya,
6 Bonus Great-Grandchildren and her beloved “Lil’ Dog” Goliath.

DIRECTIONS FROM DALLAS AREA TO DECATUR LDS CHURCH:
(Approximately 1 hr 30 minutes drive time)
Take Hwy 114 West Past DFW Airport, Grapevine, Southlake/Trophy Club, Roanoake and the TX
Motor Speedway to Hwy 287. Exit to the RIGHT/NORTH and continue on Hwy 287. Stay on Highway for approximately 12-15 miles
until you come into Decatur.
Take the Exit for F.M. 730 and turn RIGHT. (730 also turns into College St)
Go up the hill and make a LEFT on Thompson St.
The church is on the left next to the water tower. Find the water tower and you can't miss
it!
If you are staying at one of the Decatur Area hotels continue North on Hwy 287 to the next
exit for Hwy 51. All hotels plus others are located at this exit or the access road leading to is as is Wal-Mart and most
other major retail locations.
