On November 1 1990 The Paul Weller Movement did their first gig, it was at the the home of Acid jazz, Dingwalls. It was a special night for the Acid Jazz crowd, the return of the godfather for some of them. The gig was maybe not so good but it got the vibe that Paul needed at the moment. He didn't want to play live, he said that he had no interest whatsoever to play, but all the time it was bringing me back to what I do best and now I'm rely glad I did it. The band he was surrounded by was Steve White on drums, Paul Francis on bass, Jacko Peake on sax and flute, Max Beesley on keyboards and vibraphone - tighter with Damon Brown on trumpet and flugel Horn, Chris Lawrence on trombone and Joe Beckett on Percussion. With this group he toured around Europe in November and early December returned to Britain for some more dates. The more they played the more Paul enjoyed it, he even started to play some Jam songs. Concerts was a mix of Jam, Style Council some songs from "Slam Slam", (later Paul songs on his selftitled soloalbum),and some covers.

Even if Paul thought that he was awful, the band was awful and he hated to play the tour was a great success for the musician Paul weller , the the turnout was not a great success. They played for half full halls around the country. And here was a man who no longer was afraid of doing a guitarsolo and using the wha-wha box, he used so hard they had replace it on some concerts. He had put some passion on the stage show and his singing had progressed, he even sang like Stevie Wonder on some of the covers on the tour. After the tour he returned to Solid Bond studios to record some new material. Paul was doing demos in one of the backstudios while The Young Disciples, Marco Nelsons band at the time, recorded in the main studio. With the vibes from the Young Disciples and help from Brendan Lynch and a two days long snowblitz the ground to a encouraging new song was done - "Into Tomorrow".
