"Born at the instant church bells chimed and the whole world whispered Born at the right time." Paul Simon So that would be some time in 1952. The perfect year if you wanted the full 1970's experience. If you were born in 1952, you were too young to notice how drab the 50's were and just as you started to notice music, the Beatles came along. In the 60's there was non-stop wonder. You could see a man walk on the moon. You saw the first episode of Dr. Who, Monty Python, Star Trek and The Flintstones. But the 60's actually happened to very few people. The 70's were the carefree decade for the masses and if you were 17 when they kicked in, that was more or less spot on. (To a lesser extent this holds true if you were born between 1950 & 62.) "Mungo just pawn in game of life." - Blazing Saddles "I look forward to the day when I'll understand girls." - Linus "There's a time and a place for everything. It's called college." - Cartman (South Park) UoS (University of Surrey) Snaps (Fab look at college life in England in the 70s) UoS People (Best link for all the groovy pics!)
