Auckland Skytower

While Henry was in Auckland, we had lunch with my good friend Louise. We had lunch at the bottom of the skytower. Henry had been impressed looking up at it, so I thought I would take him up, not really thinking he would appreciate it or understand it.

Well I was wrong. He just loved it. It was the highlight of his Auckland Trip. We even had a second trip up there when Anne-Marie came back. she hadn't been up before.

I was impressed by the fact, that Henry was able to relate the tower we saw driving around Auckland with the tower he had been up in.

Henry was initally very carefull when walking out onto the 'glass floor', going very gently and holding my hand, he soon realised it was quite safe, and when he saw some big boys jumping on the glass, he tried it too.

On his last evening in Auckland, he visited a freind of Anne-maries, who had a veiw of the Skytower, how lucky can some people be. He kept going out to look at it, and wanting Anne-Marie to come out too. And of course it was even better at night, all lit up and with a flashing red light on top.

Henry has been very excited about the moon for quite a long time, but as we have had daylight saving he had only seen it during the day. At last there was a chance to see it at night. Well he wasn't too keen to go outside in the dark, but with me holding him, we did look at it. The moon was great, but not so the dark night.
