National Women’s Studies Association

The PUC Women’s Studies Program is a member of NWSA, which is the sole national professional organization in the field.

NWSA has a vision of a world in which all persons can develop to their fullest potential and be free from all the ideologies and structures that consciously or unconsciously oppress and exploit some for the advantage of others.

NWSA supports and promotes feminist/womanist teaching, learning, research, and professional and community service at the pre-K through post-secondary levels and serves as a locus of information about Women's Studies.

NWSA Journal, an official publication of the National Women's Studies Association, publishes interdisciplinary, multicultural, feminist scholarship linking feminist theory with teaching and activism.

NWSA's annual conference in June provides an opportunity for teachers, students, scholars, activists, and community practitioners to discuss feminist research and teaching and programmatic concerns in Women’s Studies.
