TIRE SIDEWALL REMOVER
The sidewall remover quickly removes both sidewalls from car and light truck tires. It is easy to operate - simply place the tire over the two rollers and pull down on the right hand lever. The tire will immediately begin to rotate. Then pull on the left hand lever which brings in the cutting blades. The time to cut both sidewalls is less than 5 seconds. Production will vary according to the availability of the tires, the location of the disposal pile, and operator efficiency. A conservative production rate of 3 tires per minute is common, with 4 to 5 tires per minute possible when conveyors are used to bring the tires to the operator and to take away the cut pieces. The blades are standard utility knife blades (extra heavy duty) that cost approximately $23.00 per box of 100 blades. Blade life is approximately 400-600 tires per blade. The blades can be changed in a matter of seconds by simply loosening two thumbscrews, slide out the old blade, slide in the new blade, and then retighten the screws. The only maintenance required is to lubricate the drive chain and several grease fittings regularly. All parts are available from EECO, however, most of the common wear parts (sprockets, chain, bearings, etc.) are standard “off-the-shelf” parts and are typically available locally which allows for quick repairs.
