In the olden lands of Varience, there was a time when evil outweighed good and attributes such as greed, envy and hatred spread like wildfire throughout the lands. A unique band of individuals coming from all walks of life decided to take a definitive stand against evil.
These individuals met by circumstance. None was to know their true role in life, nor was anyone of them going to realize the impact that their meeting would have.
Led by a lone fighter, this band formed an alliance to help each other in the most troubling times. Constantly recruiting members, they were an inspiration to others who had heard of their good name and standing. Kings and Queens alike knew all too well the tributes that had been handed down to the Shardrows. They also knew of the dangers that this elite group had faced. The most impressive of them all, and one that could have destroyed the world, was bringing down an evil magic user by the name of Aboghast who was respected and deemed very powerful. At the time, Aboghast had found a legendary tome of evil....pure evil....which slowly corrupted his mind, his soul and his actions. He understood only one objective...the resurrection of the god Zukemeus. Had this happened, the whole world as we knew it would have been thrown in utter turmoil. Maybe it was luck, maybe it was the gods Uko & Heronius that watched over this adventurous group of people. But in the end, good conquered out the malice, or should we say restored the balance once again to a troubled land.
Should you happen to come across a statue of one of the Shardrows through your travels throughout Variance, stop and pay tribute to these wonderful and brave warriors for their valiant deeds and actions.
The shardrows still walk among the common people, for they do not believe they are in any way special. But how do you recognize them? You don't, unless they happen to be wearing their special cloaks with the insignia of two lightning bolts crossed in an x with a long sword going down the center. Spot this and you have spotted one of the Shardrows. Don't be afraid of them for they are people like you and I....until a great evil or danger plagues the land...then they become the Shardrows.
