Important Note
From The Web Site Administrator:
I do not claim to be an expert on
reverse speech and I have not been trained by David Oates.1 I have learned to find reversals
on my own and have received encouraging feedback from the people I have done reversals on.
In some cases I have found information that they were consciously trying to conceal or
hold back. I really do believe there is something to this and that's why I am researching
reverse speech.
Just about anyone can find reversals in speech if they invest enough
effort. Interpreting the findings is the truly difficult part. First it's good to have
someone else analyze the transcript of the reversals to see if it can be determined if the
analyst has colored the findings with his/her bias. Feedback from the individual whose
speech is being analyzed is perhaps even more essential. Analyzing people you don't know
and not getting any feedback from them, I feel makes it terribly difficult to determine
the meaning of the reversals. So much of the material is in personal metaphor, similar to
what you find in dreams.
My main area of interest is exploring the UFO abductee phenomenon. My goal
in presenting this subject matter is to generate interest from the scientific community in
reverse speech and provoke insight into what lies behind the abductions. I would like to
see scientists and engineers get involved in defining the best equipment and software
necessary to accurately search for the reversals and to find psychiatrists, degreed
therapists, linguists, cognitive therapists, etc., willing to interpret the meaning of the
reversals.
Please be advised that any interpretations I present are purely conjecture
at this point in my research and are solely my opinion unless attributed to the work of a
colleague. I am so excited by what I am finding that I am presenting to you this work in
progress.
All transcript excerpts and sound clips are presented with the permission
