STAGED SCENERY PLAN
In order to design a very successful park
in the urban space :
Careful planning was done for this park to make its scenery attractive
from its initial opening through every stage of its future development.
Particularly with respect to vegetation, a staged scenery plan was
developed to meet the growth of the plants as it is difficult to expect all of the trees
to be fully grown from the beginning.
In the first stage, the scenery is to be composed of a lake surface,
blooming shrubs, large cutting trees, transplanted trees and such artificial elements as a
waterfall and fog.
In the next stage, the scenery is to be mainly composed of an abundance
of greenery created by fast growing trees and also flowering trees.
In the final stage, a picture of a matured park with fully grown trees
with luxuriously spreading branches.
ZONING
The park can be divided into a number of zones by the characteristics
of each respective space. Zoning is determined by various site conditions relative to the
surrounding facilities, roads or access.
The Birds Eye View of the
Park
The Shah Alam Lake and Park is broadly divided into three zones
the Eastern Lake Zone, the Central Lake Zone and the Western Lake Zone by the two
roads that run from north to south. Each zone may be characterized as follows:
The Eastern Lake Zone
This zone, being contiguous to the Mosque and Padang, has a strongly
religious atmosphere, serene and mystic.
Major facilities of this zone are the zone that surrounds the
Ornamental Garden, featuring a clear, serene stream lined by flowering trees and shrubs
and the zone around the Memorial Plaza at the center of which are the Padang and the
lakeshore in front of it.
The Central Lake Zone
This zone, being contiguous to the Town Center, will be strongly urban
in atmosphere, gay and lively.
The northern lakeshore zone across the lake will be composed of gently
rolling hills to become the Lakeside Promenade.
the Western Lake Zone
Being contiguous to the residential area and schools, and having the
largest area of the three zones, this zone will accommodate the widest range of
activities, such as family outings, etc.
Major contituent facilities are the zone around the Park Center and the
boat station, the zone where the Childrens Center lies at its core and the zone
including the planted area in the southern half of this zone and the entrance plaza.
