Huddersfield Guild of Assassins

Basic Rules

All injuries suffered by players remove them from the game for a period of ten minuites. The exception to this rule is neck injuries which are as fatal as in the normal game. To stop players merely shooting an opponent and then cutting off his head a points penalty should be imposed. Possibly something along the lines of minus a point for attempting to kill someone with a non-bladed weapon (whether successful or not), minus another for a successful kill where the weapon is other than a sword.

Advanced Rules

In the movies and TV series the immortals are not always after a specific individual, therefore it might be an idea not to give the players targets. Instead give them some sort of symbol or badge which they must wear to identify them as an immortal to the other players. If the players all know each other and are kept upto date on who's dead and who's not then this is not really neccessary.

The Quickening, the absorbance of power from a dead immortal into his killer, poses a small problem to represent as we can't improve the skills of the player's without giving them lengthy instruction with a sword. To represent the Quickening I suggest that each player starts off with one Quickening point. These points can be used to determine the winner of a game if it ends with multiple players left alive. To represent the increased benifits of the Quickening I think the easiest solution is to allow the player to ignore one wound for each Quickening point he/she has. Towards the end of the game this may lead to some fairly lengthy duels.

Obviously the rules prohibit ganging up, multiple adversaries may be present at a kill, but only one person may fight any other at a given time. Also there should be points lost for fighting in view of a bystander, minus one for fighting, minus another two if an immortal is beheaded. These should be increased by another point for every two people after the first.
