The Prutour is the fourth richest race in the world after the three main tours - The Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and Tour of Spain. Not bad for its second year.

The race itself spends alot of time around the South-West covering 732 miles between 6 Road Stages, 2 Criteriums and 1 Individual Time Trial.
Last year it was a bit of a fiasco, with some riders being directed the wrong way, and unfortunately, a motorbike policeman marshal was killed ahead of the race. This year, it is hoped that there will be no such incidents, and with an Irishman in control, it is doubtful there will be.
