Elk Recipes

1 lb. Elk Meat, Cut into Bite
1 Cup Celery, Sliced
1/2 Cup Onion, Diced
1/4 Cup Flour
Salt and Pepper
1 Cup Carrots, Sliced
1-1/2 Cup Potatoes, Diced
1 Can Tomato Sauce
2 Quarts Water
Seasoned Salt
Place all the ingredients with the exception of the flour in a pot and lightly boil for 1 hour. Scoop some of the liquid out with a cup and mix in the flour. Return the Flour and liquid mixture to the pot. Boil for another half hour. This recipe is better when you can leave the stew to simmer all day in crock pot, and add the flour later.

1 lb. Elk, cubed
2 tbsp. oil
2 cups already made pancake mix
sweet and sour sauce

Sweet and Sour sauce mix
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tbsps. soy sauce
Fry Pork in oil. Remove from heat, drop a few pieces at a time in pancake batter. Deep fry until golden Brown. Serve with Sweet and Sour sauce below.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
Combine all ingredients together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened slightly and clear. Makes 2 cups.
