X10

The Campus Detectives lead Kamui and the other Dragons of Heaven to a large fountain at the center of the campus. At the center of the fountain there is a statue of that white puffy fish (what the hell is it's name)? Sora asks if it's a good idea to hide the sword in such a strange place. (You should see the looks on everyone's faces, it's classic. Karen puts it best by whispereing "maa...") Kamui is then instructed to walk to the center of the fountain and touch the mascot. It will only react to his fingerprints. He does so and the floor of the fountain opens up, splitting into several sections. The water rushes into a chamber below. Everyone rushes to Kamui as they stand and look down a staircase. Kamui enters, with the others trailing silently behind. As they reach the center of the underground fortress, a large room opens up and in the center of which is a small circular platform. Kamui staggers as the sword reacts to something.

At Sunshine 60 the container holding the sacred sword begins to vibrate, cracking the casing. As scientists rush around in a panic, Nataku strides forward. The casing shatters completely as electricity shoots out of the sword.

"You want to return to Kamui?" Nataku asks.

Back at the underground fountain, it is explained that the CLAMP Campus was established to learn all occult practices. This is why the school's campus grounds, and monorail system are laid out in a pentacle shape. This helps keep the safe-keeping "room" for the sacred sword protected. As does other kinds of magic that have been incorporated in the school. If Kamui seals of the power of this sword until the needed day, so too shall the other sword's power be sealed. Subaru says he should make the descision based on his wish alone, no matter what anyone else says or thinks. Kamui says his wish is to bring Fuuma back.

Nataku closes his fingers around the hilt of the sword and sees an image of Fuuma, and his father. He whispers "father" and then again asks the sword if it wants to go to "him". As Nataku prepares to leave a woman scientist rushes forward, screaming at him, and asking him where he is going. Nataku pays her no heed as the roof starts to collapse.

Kamui unravels the cloth from around the sword and pauses to look at it. After a moment he lifts the sword above his head and rather dramatically drives it into the center of the platform. The large metal spires that surround the circle shoot out electricity, which forms the shape of a pentacle, and the electric charges shoot out of the ground, traveling along the monorail system and spiraling into the sky. At the lair of the Dragons of Earth Fuuma looks startled and then smiles. The other sword has been sealed away.

Kanoe and Hinoto are conversing in a dream. Kanoe is gloating over the fact that there is now a "Kamui" for her as well. Hinoto begs her not to let this "Kamui" in, not to trust him for he is dangerous and erratic. Kanoe refuses to listen. Meanwhile the BEAST reacts to Fuuma's presence, flashing "Kamui" on it's screen. Fuuma looks up at Satsuki from the screen and smiles cruelly, Kakyou in his arms. Kanoe leaves the dream when Fuuma appears before her. She embraces him and smiles. She has been waiting for him. Fuuma says nothing but stares ahead with cold eyes.

As the electricity dies down chains shoot from around the platform and surround the sword, anchoring it in place. Sorata steps forward and smiles, asking what they were going to do now. Kamui answers that they will go and see Hinoto. There are some things he wants to ask her.

Meanwhile in downtown Tokyo, Kusanagi is chatting with his bird friends. They inform him that one of his comrades is running around with something dangerous. He goes off to find him and soon gets Nataku in sight. Seishirou stands in the center of downtown Tokyo, also feeling the draw to the lair of the Dragons of Earth.

Inside a dream, Kakyou confronts Hinoto about Kotori's dying words, that the future is not yet decided. Both Hinoto and Kakyou have seen the future that "is" decided, and yet Hinoto still gathers the Dragons of Heaven and fights against it. Kotori had the power to become a yume-mi but died before that power fully awakened. At her last moment, she saw a dream, was this the true dream? Or only a hope for a future that would never be?

At the lair of the Dragons of Earth Satsuki and Yuuto walk in on Fuuma and Kanoe's embrace. Yuuto immediately recognizes Fuuma from before, when he first fought with Sorata. When asked about Kakyou, Fuuma reveals that Kakyou is a Dragon of Earth, and a yume-mi, much to Kanoe's surprise. Suddenly BEAST activates, integrating itself with Satsuki. Three people are fast approaching the Government office building. Fuuma nods, the remaining members of the Dragons of Earth, and his sword.

Hinoto awakens from the dream, troubled and restless. Sohi and Hien leave to prepare a medecine bath for her when Saiki enters. Hinoto asks him if he has ever been discontent with a life that was already chosen for him. (Protecting her) Saiki tells her he has never been discontent. Before they can continue the conversation, Hinoto gasps, Kamui has returned.

Kamui enters, with the rest of the Dragons of Heaven standing silently in the hall. Saiki stands as if to confront Kamui, and then steps aside. Sohi and Hien re-enter, shouting at Kamui. Sora stops them and they stand quietly in the door. Hinoto looks up at Kamui expectantly. Kamui has questions, and Hinoto has answers. They enter a dream.

They are standing outside Togakushi, Saya and Tohru stand in the courtyard alone. Saya has known since she met Tohru that she would live....and die for her. Tohru is deeply saddened, but obeys Saya's wishes to leave Togakushi. As the sun starts to rise Saya and Kyougo face each other inside the shrine. Kyougo asks her if she will die today, Saya answers yes. Kyougo then tells her he knew that she truly loved Saya, but that he married her because he loved her, and that he is willing to protect the sword until Kamui can wield it. Saya starts to cry as a warm light begins to resonate from her body. She reaches inside her stomach and pulls out the sword, but as it is drawn out her body is torn into many pieces. Kyougo, spattered with blood, takes the sword into his hands, and starts to cry, softly saying Saya's name. He leaves the room as Kamui stares in disbelief. Hinoto asks him if he wants to continue.

A few minutes later Fuuma, the child, enters, his eyes dead and lifeless. He stares at his mothers dismembered body. Kamui watches in horror as he picks up his mother's head and drinks her blood. The scene dissolves and Kamui and Hinoto are once again standing in the darkness. Hinoto explains that no matter what destiny Kamui chose, Dragon of Earth, of Dragon of Heaven, Kotori's fate still would not have changed. She lied to him, and after this dream has ended, she wants him to choose for his own reasons, not for hers. But Kamui still wants to know why his mother died.

The scene opens once again and they are standing outside his old home in Okinawa. Tohru is on the phone (speaking to the chairwoman of CLAMP Campus). The sword that is in Kyougo's keeping will go to the other Kamui. As she holds the phone flame dances around her hand, and then her arm is a flame. Kamui rushes to her, but passes through her as if she is a ghost. Kamui demands to know what happened, Hinoto quietly explains that his mother was the shadow sacrifice for the Earth. Because of Global Warming she will die to temporarily halt the decayment of the Earth. As they watch, the past Kamui arrives home in time to see his mother, enveloped in flame, fall into the fire and disappear.

Hinoto suddenly looks horrified, and the dream rips apart. Kamui is standing before Kakyou. Kakyou asks him which future he thinks is better? The wish of the Seven Seals, to maintain the state of things as they are, which will ultimately cause the death of the Earth? Or the wish of the Seven Angels, to bring change to Earth, and let it re-heal. Kamui replies that without the people he loves there is no world. Kakyou looks sadly at him, the earth is dying, but the future......

Hinoto screams Kamui's name and the dream dissolves. Kamui looks sadly at them all, circled around him and deeply concerned. He has met the yume-mi for the Dragons of Heaven, the Earth is dying, and he may be making a mistake. But no matter what, he will get Fuuma back.

At the end of X10 there is a special side story of Arashi Kishu.

Rain is falling hard upon the little girl as she stares at the pile of garbage before her. Crows pick at decay as she stares at a half-eaten container of fast-food left behind. A kindly kimono-clad woman carrying a bamboo umbrella leans over her and asks what she is looking at. Arashi turns to her and replies, whether or not she should eat trash to live. The woman, Kaede, asks her to go back to Ise with her. Back at Ise Arashi sits in front of a meal, bathed and cleaned up she stares at if as if still undecided. When Kaede asks her what is troubling her Arashi replies that she hasn't decided whether or not to live. Kaede tells her that she looked for Arashi's mother but was too late to save her (She was a priestess at Ise). Arashi's destiny is to become a Dragon of Heaven, she will meet many people now, those who will be her friends, enemies, and those who will love her. Kaede also says she would be sad if Arashi died. Arashi asks her if this is really true to which Kaede nods. Arashi hugs her and then turns to the meal, preparing to eat.
