From
ancient times, the increase and the decrease of population has played a
large part in the rise and fall of nations. This is the law of natural
selection. Since mankind has not been able to resist the forces of natural
selection, many ancient and famous guilds have disappeared without leaving
a trace. Our empire is one of the ancient guilds, we have fallen once but
we arose again. Our guild has nine months of authentic Diablo history.
Because our guild was and probably still is of some size, we need not worry
about natural selection, we shall prevail. But since our destiny is not
determined by natural selection alone we must protect ourselves from another
determining factor, other guilds. Our prosperity depends on both natural
selection and human forces. Of all the human forces, the most powerful
are political and economic forces. They have the greater influence upon
the rise and fall of guilds than the forces of nature.
The Empire in its first nine months of authentic history was crushed once by outside forces, not of natural selection but of man-made forces. We were crushed by political forces which destroyed our morale but did not destroy the people. Though we no longer fight actively, we are unharmed and are ready to return to the front. If we should be crushed by both economic and political powers, we shall forever be splintered. We will be annihilated by greater powers and we shall never have another chance to emerge. To defend ourselves from being dismembered again, we from build our defenses in the areas of economy and in politics. Economy must be dominated by us. In Diablo II, we will have an actual economy, this is our chance to dominate and protect ourselves. We must be independent and in doing so we must set up banks, insurance agencies, weapon traders, armor traders, and anything that has to do with economy. The second thing we must do is to defend ourselves from the greedy politics of outside powers. We must show them that we are not easy to take down, that we are actively immersed in out own politics. Economic and Politics are far worse than a million enemy legions ready to slaughter us. For the future of The Empire, we must find a way to break the hostile's hold! But to do so, we must be united, we must have NATIONALISM! |
