GOVERNOR
|
Governs
a province and collects taxes from the populace of that province. Governors
have a quota of gold to extract from their province, any excess gold can
be kept by the governor. Thus, the more citizens that reside in one's province,
the more income for the Empire and the governor. Militias can be raised
by the governor but their numbers may not exceed 25% of the provincial
population. They also are responsible for maintaining or finding someone
else to maintain their province's official webpage. They are also responsible
for keeping records of their citizens. Governors may create unofficial
titles and hire other civilians to help with their jobs.

TAX COLLECTOR
|
Tax Collectors
are Civilians appointed by governors to help collect gold from their province.
Any excess gold will be split between the tax collector(s) and governor.

RETIRED VETERAN
|
A soldier
that has retired from the army. They are immune to conscription and should
be given special treatment when their tax is collected. They are given
retirement benefits as well.
Pension has

CIVILIAN
|
The hard-working
member of the Empire. All persons not in the Armed Services are protected
by the Imperial Army. Each civilian needs to pay tax in order to keep the
Army in working order. Should the need arise, civilians can be conscripted
into the Army for three weeks maximum. They may engage in occupations such
as trading, adventuring, and other activities in order to create income
so that they may contribute to the maintenance of their Empire. Civilians
are free to do whatever is right, a small tax provides protection and oppurtunity,
the best of everything. |

EMPEROR
|
Has 50% power
over the Empire. The current Emperor is [IO]Clemency. He can veto laws
made by the Senate and offer laws of his own. He may also veto actions
passed by the Senate and again, make suggestions of his own. The secondary
obligation is to maintain all files located within "~imperial_order" account
in Tripod and to help maintain the stability of the Empire.
The Emperor
cannot raise taxes without the consent of the Senate.
The Emperor
cannot raise more than 3 Legions without the consent of the Senate.
The Emperor
cannot interfere with Senate elections.
The Emperor
cannot disband the Senate.
The Emperor
cannot declare Martial Law without the consent of the Senate.
The Emperor
cannot use armed force, bribery, etc. to alter the decisions of the Senate.

CONSULS
|
Though their
roles are not traditional compared to the Roman Empire, they are still
helpful. The consuls also advise the Emperor and serve as his opposition
during times of extreme indecision. More consuls can be called up by the
emperor if assistance in governing is needed. There can be a maximum of
five consuls, each consul will specialize in different aspects of politics.

SENATOR
|
Senators are
Imperial Citizen from the public who represent the people. There is a maximum
of two senators for each province. The entire Senate has 50% power over
the Imperium. They help make laws for the Empire as well and help during
war as the official declarer of war. They are elected every 4 months.
The Senate
cannot overthrow the emperor without the approval of the popular vote.
The Senate
cannot raise its own armies.
The Senate
cannot declare martial law during peace time or time of peace.
The Senate
cannot accept favors in return for alterations in Senate decisions.

AMBASSADOR
|
An Imperial
Citizen who joins another guild in orderto establish an embassy. Ambassadors
should have access to all information that any other guild member in the
host guild should have access to. The Empire is willing to host Ambassadors
from other guilds as well.

MILITARY

LEGATE
|
The Legate
is responsible for the battle readiness of his or her legion. They are
to prepare reports on their legion's progress when asked to do so by the
emperor or by the Senate. Though their command is large, the real power
lies within the centuries. They are to act as a military tribunal in times
of war and advise the emperor and Senate during those times.

COHORT COMMANDER
|
As the senior
officer of a cohort their duty is similar to the legate except that their
actions of administration is much closer to the main body of troops. Their
duty is to maintain the battle readiness of their centuries and to report
their findings to their Legate. cohort commanders are responsible for the
management of their cohort's human resources. They are also responsible
for keeping records of all their soldiers and officers under their command.

CENTURION
|
Centurions
are the only commissioned officers in their unit, the century. They are
the key officers in the Imperial Armies. Their duties include accompanying
their troops into battle, paying their soldiers with money provided from
the War Department, training their soldiers, and acting as the administrator
for all century operations and reports. They also are responsible for maintaining
or finding someone else to maintain their unit's official webpage.

OPTIO
|
The rank of
optio is as important as any rank in the Imperium's military hierarchy.
They main duty is to lead their century if their centurion should fall
in battle or if he simply is not present. They are non-commissioned officers
and thus receive no more pay than a legionary. Should both centurion and
optio fall in battle, then the reminder of the century must continue on
with the rest of the mission based on the orders of the latest fallen officer.

LEGIONARY
|
Legionaries
are the backbone of the Imperial Army. They are the most important persons
in the entire military as they provide manpower for the Imperial war effort
and provide protection from enemy guilds. They duty is mainly that of following
orders and fighting hard. They are to be revered for their selfless altruism
for they fight not for rank or prestige but for the protection of the Empire.
