He reached Taylor and fell to the ground beside him. Placing his hands on Tay's shoulders, Ike shook his brother's body until Taylor's eyes opened. Taylor blinked a few times, sleepy eyed and weary, before trying to stand up.
Taylor's eyes met Ike's for a moment. Isaac shuddered. There was something strange going on, and he could feel it.
"Ike?" Tay whispered. "Did you see that? Someone-- something-- pushed me. I didn't see the truck, and when I did, I couldn't move. Oh God, it was AWFUL, Ike. This terrible heat came over my body and I couldn't do ANYTHING. And then that thing moved me out of the way. That THING saved my life."
Ike looked at his brother. The whole story seemed so far-fetched, he almost burst out laughing. But Taylor looked so sure of himself Isaac did a double take. His brother really did believe he was saved by something super natural.
With a sigh, Isaac put out a hand and offered it to Tay. Taylor accepted and with Ike's help, pulled himself upright. He was still a little shaky from his accident. Isaac looked down at his watch and groaned. "It's three twelve, " he told Taylor. They had been due at the elementary school at three o'clock.
Side by side, the two brothers skated off in search of the school.

"Why are we playing ANOTHER elementary school?" Zac Hanson, Tay and Ike's little brother and band member, groaned. "That's all we ever do-- play little kid schools! I'm gonna be 97 years old and coming back to this place, singing 'Rockin' Robin'!"
Diana, the boy's mother, looked over at Zac and smiled. "Dear, if you want to make it in the music world, you have to start SOMEWHERE. I promise you, one day you'll play the big stadiums."
"Whatever you say, Mom," he muttered. He looked at a clock that was hanging nearby. "Where the hell are those two?"
"Zac!" Diana said sharply. Zac blushed. "Sorry."
Suddenly, the back door to the stage burst open and Tay appeared, with Isaac soon behing. Both seemed out of breath, and Tay was covered in dust. "Tay and Ike!" their mother exclaimed. "Where on Earth have you been? You were due here half an hour ago!"
Ike looked sheepish. "I'm really sorry, Mom. It'll never happen again."
"You bet it won't. Now, Taylor, go get washed up, you have to be on stage in 5 minutes, " Diana instructed.
Avery, the trio's little sister, looked up from a Barbie doll she was playing with. "What are you going to sing today?" she asked sweetly.
Jessica, another Hanson sibling, took the Barbie from Avie. "They're singing du-whop," she explained. Ike burst out laughing.
Just then, their father, Walker, entered. He was carrying a stack of papers and seemed to be thoroughly engrossed in them. "You guys ready?" he asked.
Zac shrugged. "As ready as we'll ever be."
Walker looked down at Zac. What was wrong with him today? He just didn't seem to be the usual Zac, jumping, laughing, hyper. And where was Taylor? God. They couldn't go on if there wasn't a keyboardist. And why did Isaac keep looking up at the ceiling? Walker decided the heat had gotten the best of them.
Tay appeared just then, and with their mother and father shooing them on, the brother's took the stage.
"Hey, Tulsa Elementary!" Zac shouted into his microphone. "Are you guys ready to rock?"
