There are so many new faces in the line up, for the 1999-2000 season, that it's going to take me a while to learn them all. I can tell you that we did loose backup goalie, Norm Maracle, in the expansion draft. In the process though, we pick up veteran net-minder Ken Wriget. He looked sharp in pre-season, but has yet to prove himself in regular season play.
Then there was the big hold-out this year. Darren McCarty missed all of the pre-season, and the fist couple of games, because of contract disputes. The Wings finally signed him to a 5.3 million dollar contract, I believe was for 3 years.
The other big news after announcing his retirement. Nick Lidstrom sign a 3 year deal with the team. Hey Hockey Town, Nicks back!
There is a new book out that has been advertised on UPN50 WKBD in Detroit, during the games. "Hockey Town Hero's"! Imagine that! Do you suppose they borrowed the name from my home page. I don't think so,lol! Unless the check is in the mail,lol!
I'm looking forward to another great season! I'm sad, in a way, that Tiger Stadium is no more. If I get a chance I'll do a tribute to the corner, if not farewell to the corner, your memories will live on. On that note I leave you with hopefully an improved page, plus the 1999-2000 season, the way I see it!
