Jedi Academy : There is no trying here, DO or DO NOT.

All the hints and tips you should need to fulfill your destiny

Multiplayer Game Types

  • FFA (free for all)

In This game type it's every man/women for themselves. Eliminating another player scores you one point. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

  • Team FFA

Just like above, except there are now two teams Red and Blue. The team with the most points wins.

  • Holocron FFA

Similar to FFA above except Knights start with no force powers and must earn them in the field. (note you can only hold 5 force powers at once)

  • CTF (Capture the Flag

In this game two teams (again red and blue) attempt to steal each other flag. A team only scores when a player brings the oppositions flag back to there flag.

  • Capture the Ysalamiri

Exactly like CTF but instead of the flag it is the opposition ysalamiri (see inventory) you must steal. While in possession of the ysalamiri you can not use the Force and the Force can not be used on you.

  • Duel

This is the REAL test of a Jedi, one on one combat. First player to reaches kill limit wins.

  • Jedi Master

Everyone starts with only blasters and must find the hidden light saber. First one to find it becomes Jedi Master and can use the Force. You must kill the Jedi Master to become it yourself. You can only score while you are the Jedi Master.

Jedi Academy : Combat Tips

  • Acrobatics

You can perform a wide range of acrobatics to confuse your enemy and to hurt them.

You can do all types of rolls - Forward-backwards-left-right
Rolls are a good way of moving around opponents quickly or to dodge enemy attacks, you can roll around them, roll backwards or sideways to avoid a incoming attack.

You can do certain jumps that will harm your opponent - Back flips-Sidekicks
You can perform a back flip by either jumping backwards at close range or doing a forward flip towards them which will hit them as you land! (don't forget that these both do damage - about 18-20 damage

You can also use walls to great advantage - Wall running-Wall flip!
You can perform a wall run by running in a strafe against the wall then pressing jump you will run along the wall for a limited amount of time! You can do a wall flip by running towards a wall then doing a none force jump (where u tap the jump button) and then press the jump or backwards button when you touch the wall (I'm not quite sure on this)

  • Lightsabers

Offense -

When are on offensive and attacking another opponent there are a number of ways to achieve your goals. You can try getting into a saber lock which will either result in you winning or your opponent, if you think that you are losing I suggest using a push force power to push them away, this will strike them back and that gives you enough time to slash them. (remember u can only push people away from a saber lock if you have a level 3 push force power)

A good way to kill a opponent is to perform lots of different types of attacking (e.g.; upwards slash's, horizontal slash's, diagonal slash's) which can get very hard on the opponent even if he has very high defending skills.

Another good way is to confuse them by rolling around them like mentioned earlier which can give you a advantage if you get behind them and you can also employ jumping to annoy them, you can jump straight over them and turn round and hit them from behind if your quick enough.

Defense -

Defending from a attacking opponent can be very hard depending on what type of saber skill they use e.g.; Fast, medium or Slow and where they are striking from. They can strike from lots of places and wiz around you easily.

A good way is to crouch then many of the attackers strikes will go over your head allowing you time to retaliate!

You can parry well on this game and if your attacker is using a attacking skill which is weaker then yours (defender) the lightsaber will be struck out of your attackers hands which will need a quick pull to get it back or if the parry was strong enough the attacker will have to go down a few ledges if it was knocked away!

Saber Throw -

Having a good saber throw all depends on the skill of it, No 1 skill is okay but will not do major damage or go very far! No 2 is good because it goes further and you can control it and No 3 is excellent because it goes way further and seeks out enemies it self!

Blocking Blaster fire -

Blocking incoming blaster fire can be easy and hard depending on what type of blaster is firing at you, if a E-11 is firing at you in secondary mode you should be able to cope with it and if your defending skills is good send the blaster shots back towards the firer. But if a gun like the Heavy Repeater is firing at you then there's a chance that you wont last long with such heavy rate of fire coming at you. If you find that there is more laser fire then you and your saber can cope with then there's a way to send even more fire back at them! Keep your saber out and deflect as many shots back as possible, when you see a large group of blaster fire coming towards you e.g.; a group close together! when the group gets close enough if you use a push force power it will strike the enemy blaster fire away and send it straight back to the firer. This can also be done with missiles, thermal detonators and other missiles, you just do the same thing and the missile or thermal detonator will bounce away. This works very well if someone is firing full blast at you in salvos of missiles, they wont expect you would be able to do this and will relax after firing the missiles, you can then push all of these missiles away from you and if your lucky send them back towards the firer, and with thermal detonators you can send them bouncing off in all directions once you push them away, which means you have basically created your own shield around you!

  • Force powers

Neutral Force Powers -

Push can be used very well to hurt or kill people in many ways, you can push someone off a ledge ( one of my favorites ) which means they will either die from falling into a pit below the ledge or they might die because of the fall ( all depends on the enemy). You can push away missiles, blaster fire and other projectiles away like mentioned earlier. You can push someone into a wall which can hurt and you can generally use it to knock people to the floor, you can also use it to get out of a saber lock if your push force power is level 3.

Pull can be good but is not often used much, with pull you can pull a certain amount of enemy's towards you and disarm them off your guns if your pull is strong enough, this can be very good, you can disarm enemy's and make them easier to slaughter!
You can pull people off ledges as well, just say your on a ledge and there's a gap between the ledge your on and the ledge the enemy's on and say the ledge the enemy is on is back to a wall so you cant push them off, with a good force pull you should be able to pull them straight off!

Speed is very good in sticky situations when you've got the enemy flag and there's people chasing you, when people are chasing you and when snipers are trying to hit you. When you have the enemy flag you can do a quick get away by using speed and speeding towards your flag, you can chase people or run from people who have the flag and catch them up! You can also dodge sniper fire with this if you move from side to side and it creates a blur and by the time the snipers fired then your already 10metres ahead!

Jump is probably one of the force powers that people use the most because they can get very far and high with it and its very good in combat! with jump you can get anywhere you can jump from ledge to ledge jump over opponents in a duel and end up behind them and get them from behind, you can jump very high and reach secret spots or good sniping places.

Seeing is a good force if you don't know where people are, you can use seeing and see people having a big battle and you can join in, you can find snipers and people hiding in shadows and other places, and if someone mind tricks you, you can use seeing to counter it and see them as well, fooling there mind trick

May the force be with you.........Jedi
