Every once in a while Gunner Town does receive some hate mail- yeah we know it's
hard to believe to but well it happens.
Our first post comes from a manchester united supporter who decided to use his
poor grammar skills on our guest book two days after the fa cup disaster.
Man U Fan writes:
Arsenal is the WORST team, what a bunch of crap! MAN U is the best team there
is..Lets see, how come we are first in the Premier!? We just beat you in the match
yesterday! Your
just so arogent and egotistical, blind and stupid that you can't relize that WE ARE JUST
BETTER
THAN YOU SODS! Plus, we are the richest team in England, have the best players and we just
simply are the BEST TEAM! THANK YOU!
Well my friend you are a tad bit mistaken. Yes it is a
bunch of crap that arsenal are the worst team. It's understandable that in your
first year as an english football spectator you do not
realise that arsenal won the double (that means fa cup and premiership) last season.
I forgive you for that. Best team there is? I dunno since a few of your
players are off to sunderland and you will not be able to make any transfers this summer
I'd say you aren't that good. I once recall a team named Rushden and Diamonds who
reigned far superior to a team of your calibre (or lack thereof). Just a tip that
involves spelling. I as a person am Arrogant, Egotistical, Blind and stupid (for the
record). I just proved you wrong once more. I DO realise that. You also
say that you are from manchester- what manchester native would spell half the words he
writes wrong? oh wait he must actually be from manchester. Next of all, England
doesn't consist of too many big name clubs so it really isn't that hard to be the richest
team. And to conclude I must thank you, sir for allowing me to make a complete
mockery of you, your intellect and the team you've supported for the past five months.
Next we have a long post from one Phil Jenson right after
Man Utd. clinched the league
CCLAREN READY FOR LAST LAP HOME IMPROVEMENT CHANNEL
HOPPING ARSENAL COME UNSTUCK IN LEEDS FULL LIST 16/05 SPURS Who was your
Man Of The Match against Tottenham? Peter Schmeichel David Beckham Paul Scholes Andy Cole
Dwight Yorke Roy Keane Other CHAMPIONS AGAIN! Sunday, May 16, 1999 18:38 The
celebrations on the pitch saw Dwight Yorke and Peter Schmeichel celebrate like never
before. For
both players it was a special day. Schmeichel had played his last home match for United,
and Yorke
had claimed his first League title. The first of many, no doubt. The party continued into
the home
dressing room. Manchester United Radio dodged the flying champagne to get the reactions of
the
players as the club claimed their fifth title in seven years, and set up an unprecedented
treble. But don't
forget, we're just one win away from a third Double in the 1990's, an equally
unprecedented
achievement. How can anyone else claim to be "By far the greatest team the world has
ever seen"?
Alex Ferguson was as happy this time as he was in 1993 when the club won the Premiership
for the
first time. "What a season!," he beamed, before praising his players.
"Theyre a great bunch of lads.
Well done! Theyve played with the quality we expect of Manchester United, but most
of all theyve
played with the spirit of Manchester United, thats the important thing. Now when we
go to Barcelona
and Wembley, well enjoy ourselves!" It was a great performance that saw United
claim the big prize.
They weren't rewarded with the many goals that their play merited, but David Beckham and
Andy
Cole rose to the occasion to score two vital goals that made Arsenal's 1-0 win at home to
Aston Villa
irrelevant. Peter Schmeichel bade farewell to Old Trafford as his career takes him
overseas. He had
kind words for all the fans who have supported him throughout the last few years.
"Can I not speak in
Danish?! Id just like to say that this has been a special day for me," he
smiled. "My last game at the
Theatre of Dreams, and to win the League in my last game here has been fantastic. Thankyou
for your
kindness over the last eight years. My family and I have really enjoyed our stay in
Manchester.
Manchester United will always be in my blood." "Every time you win a trophy it's
a great day. It's a
fantastic thing to win it at Old Trafford. I will treasure this for the rest of my
life.But it's just the start.
We will let our hair down tonight, and we'll be back working hard next week. We've got the
FA Cup
final next Saturday, and the chance of another Double. This could be the greatest team
I've played in,"
said the Great Dane. Spurs gave their all in the match, dispelling rumours that they would
roll over to
deny Arsenal another title. United won on merit, and extended their unbeaten run to an
amazing 31
matches in all competitions. "I'm delighted with the goal and delighted for the
team," said Andy Cole
who grabbed the winning goal. "It's been a hard season, but we're there now. We've
worked hard and
to throw it away on the last game would have been disappointing. "It can only get
better with me and
Dwight. It's gone from strength to strength, but it will get better. There's more to come,
and I'm
working hard," he continued. "Can we do the treble? I don't know. We'll just
have to wait and see. You
never know what can happen," he claimed. One down, two to go! Come with us to Wembley
and
Barcelona as we follow United's bid for a famous trophy treble. Can we do it? Need you
ask?
Well well well, amazing what cut and paste can do now-a-days.
But tell me, does supporting man utd for one month explain your insanity?
