Italy is just like India - you see a lot of characteristics of what you see back home - crowds, poor people, relatively less cleaner compared to their European counterparts etc.

Italy is a beautiful country and we visited Rome, Pisa and Venice. Rome is just like Mumbai ! There are so many things to see and do in Rome. Colosseum is a dream come true - in fact my desire to see the Colosseo, as the Italians call it, became greater after the movie Gladiator. The Forum opposite the Colosseum is awesome ! Its so easy to commute by metro trains and the attractions are so cheap - would you believe they just charge 4 euros to see the magnificent Colosseum ?

Pisa and its leaning tower was another dream come true. Having seen and read about it so much, it indeed felt great to be on top of the leaning tower ! Hey Aishwarya danced in front of it , I did not , but what the heck, I went on top of it !

We travelled mostly by trains as they are economical and effective. Reservations have no meaning on Italian trains..even after paying the additional euros for reservations, you have to fight for your seats as junta simply occupy the seats and refuse to get up!

Venice is beautiful, no doubt but I wonder whether its worth all the hype about. I have seen much better places in my life.
