You know how we had fun- by never looking in each others eyes, and crying at night, risking being caught. A thrill once lived in the dark.
You know how we had fun- by running from the sun, letting it burn our backs, and sleeping in the park, as we dreamt of wanderers and thieves.
And then we had to try- by looking for fun in the stars and dancing beneath the moon because we thought a thrill waited to capture us in the dark.
And soon we sank to our knees in yellow itchy grass and the waterfall felt prickly cold as I looked in your eyes while you washed away.
