Sexuality and Spirituality

For years, sexuality and spirituality were seen as opposing each other. As Catholics begin to understand incarnational theology, sexuality takes on a new meaning. We will address sexuality as sacrament, i.e., "a place of revelation."

All Richmond area young adults are invited to join us for this monthly event begining with the 5:30 PM Mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church and followed by dinner. Please meet in the kitchen area after Mass and we'll give out directions to the restaurant and head out for dinner.

Forgive and Forget? It's So Hard to Do!
at Church of the Epiphany, Richmond. Presented by Rev. Michael Renninger who was ordained in 1993. He received degrees in theology and liturgy form Catholic University. After serving four years as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Newport News, he became Vocation Director for the Diocese. Jesus tells us that we must constantly forgive, but many of us struggle to forgive the people who hurt us. This session will explore the message of Jesus and offer concrete suggestions to assist us in the art of forgiving.

In this session we will discuss the times in which you live, the times that have helped to shape you. Together we will look particularly at issues of inclusivity and marginalization in our communities. We will examine the life of Jesus as he related to those on the fringe and explore models of behavior that offer hope as you the People of God make your contribution to life on this planet.

at St. Paul, Richmond. Presented by Rev. Frederick Feusahrens who has been a parish priest for 28 years. His graduate work is in theology, English Liturature and canon law. Who is God? The Trinity and Our Salvation
at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Richmond. Presented by Msgr. Charles Kelly, Vicar General of the Diocese of Richmond, Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Richmond. Msgr. Kelly enjoys working with the campus ministry and teaching the course on Roman Catholic thought at VCU. Everyone who attends the Summer Theologica Events will receive a formal invitation to our closing Potluck Dinner. This will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 6:30 PM. The dinner provides an opportunity to bring together our experiences of Summer Theologica as we share a feast with the friends we met during this brief, spiritual journey. Those who plan to attend are encouraged to bring a food item of their choice (main dish, salad, fruit, desert, pasta, bread, etc...) Participants are also welcome to join us for Mass at 5:15 PM before the dinner begins. The kitchen will be open at 5:00 to hold any items that need to be refrigerated or kept warm during the Mass.
