Star Trek: Nemesis
Critic: Aaron
Stupid!
I am 31 years old. I have been a Trekker for over 35 years.
That's how much I love Star Trek. Or at least I did. I
will now summarize the entire movie. Marry Riker and Troy.
Substitute Data for Spock. Watch Wrath of Khan. Cry
because you know that you have just wasted 2 hours of your life and
unless you enter a time-space rift (for reference see any Star Trek
episode) and hope that it takes you 2 hours back in time.
This movie was SO lacking in story that even my wife said she couldn't
figure out why it took 2 hours to tell a 15-minute story. And
she's not a Star Trek fan like I am. I was even more
disappointed after watching the extra features on the DVD. They
all talked like it was this great event in Star Trek history that will
shake things up as we know them to be. Then I remembered that
they all got paid to make the movie. I, on the other hand,
helped pay them. This is why the actors should never write
scripts for movies they will star in...because it's their version of
the Star Trek universe, not the fans. Brent Spiner (Data) helped
write the script. I'm sure that Jonathan Frakes (Riker) had some
input on the directing as well. They should both be fired.
The only thing I loved about this movie was Gates McFadden (Dr.
Crusher) was in it and that Will Wheaton didn't say a single line
although he can be seen in the background at the wedding reception.
I never liked his character, but that's for another review.
I give Star Trek: Nemesis -5 stars for lack of vision, lack of use of
the universe and overhype.
