Tim's
thoughts:
This guy is tough. Almost as
tough as Principal Harper. He spends more time out and
about with the students and it occurs to me that the teachers
and students are more afraid of him than Harper. His
staring challenge is great. He is Harper's brute squad
and rules with an iron fist. His interaction with Lauren
was one of the few times that we saw his soft side. I
think I like him better as the tough guy.
Nothing seems to touch Guber.
He's the one guy you'd want on your side in a debate. I
really like the V.P.

Thoughts:
Guber is a very by-the-book administrator, and makes a good
foil for Harper's from-the-heart approach. He does cross the
line from authoritative to authoritarian all too
frequently, though. This is a very reserved man who is used to
being in control of the world around him, but is easily thrown
when his emotions (finally) come into play. Consider his
actions toward Lauren Davis. He clearly feels out-of-control
around her and doesn't seem to know what to do about it. I
love that he does have a soft side that we glimpse here and
there when he is dealing with Lauren, but I don't think he has
really developed that part of himself and seems to be at a
loss as to how he can do so. I don't think his idea of
adopting a baby is going to provide him with the answer,
either, although I do think that it's very sweet that he would
even contemplate parenthood. |
