Some of the situations explored in this
episode are very sexual in content. We will allude to them in this
episode guide, but for a better understanding of the show, you should
watch the episode.
Holt 45 and the Shakespeare Couple
Continuing with the story line of Sheryl Holt's website
we trace the life and times of Milton and Lisa. This week Sheryl has
depicted the two of them in bed together. Lauren and Harry see the
website while sitting together in bed themselves. Lauren wonders if there's any truth to
the image, but Harry dismisses
it, at first. Harry asks Kevin about the validity of the site
but he
denies knowing anything about it. Milton and Lisa start a
Shakespeare club as a way to explain them spending so much time
together. Harry, being the to-the-point kinda guy that he is, asks
Lisa if she's sleeping with Milton, and she of course lies. Harry
finally just asks Milton about the possible affair, outraging
his friend. By now he's had to answer a dozen questions from staff and
is losing his cool. Harper asks to see him in the office. He
again denies the affair, but is having trouble lying. He's just not
suave enough to play it cool. By the way he looks that night with
Lisa, we can tell that he's wondering if it's worth it all. He feels
he's losing his friends.
Guber vs. Lipschultz Round 2
Guber tells Harper that he wants to fire Harvey for
being a bigot. Harper and Guber ask Lipschultz to resign.
Lauren is appalled by their actions and demands a hearing to help defend Harvey.
When they give it to him Harvey makes
several bigoted remarks and proves their point. Lauren hears all that and
suddenly has nothing to say in his
defense. Harvey later asks Marla about the situation and continues
to make ridiculous anti-black remarks that even offend her. He gets
another chance to defend himself but says things that even worse. Marla comes in to try to defend him but it does no good. He
tells
them all to "Go to ****" Later the African-American
student that Harvey berated earlier for not cracking open his history
books sticks up for Harvey and tells Harper
that his remarks don't bother him, because he knows that Lipschultz WILL
get him into college. Eventually Harper determines that Harvey can
stay if he takes part in tolerance training.
Anything Boys can do Girls can do Better
A parent comes to school complaining that his daughter
is getting beaten up because of cuts and bruises he has found on her.
Kevin looks into it and finds that the three boys who have been teasing
her have all been beaten up. Kevin finds one of the boys just after
being assaulted and the girl in question, Christine "The Blob" Banks,
is there. She claims she didn't witness it and the boys won't tell who
hurt them. Kevin takes "The Blob" aside and points
out the cuts on
her knuckles. She confesses that she beat
the guys up herself, and that she's gotten away with it because her
victims are unwilling to admit to being beat up by a
girl. Thinking he might be onto something, Kevin asks the young lady to join the wrestling
team, and she rather reluctantly agrees. She comes to practice and flattens the biggest guy on
the squad and earns a start in the match the next night. Christine's
father, a former wrestler himself and the person who taught Christine
everything she knows, comes to the school and expresses his thoughts that
he isn't sure that being on the team is good
for her. Kevin assures him that she will do great. Dad comes to
watch her at the match and she wins. Happy Ending!
A Tough Subject to Handle
One of Marilyn's students, Jody, reads a short story
aloud in class. The story is tremendously well-written , but
the
subject matter gives Marilyn reason to pause, as it is clearly written
by a victim of sexual abuse. She asks Jody after class if the story
is true, and the young girl denies it. Marilyn takes the story to Mr. Lick
who agrees that it only could've been written by someone who had
experienced the events in the story. He and Marilyn meet with Jody,
and he also asks her if it's true. After some trepidation she
somewhat admits to the validity of the story. He asks her to
bring her father in, (because he is the one written about in the story),
but she refuses and claims it would rip the family apart. Mr. Lick
calls them in anyhow and questions them. They are outraged by the
accusations and threaten to sue. Jody leaves the room and the
parents go home. Later Marilyn meets with Jody again and asks her
more about the incident. Jody refuses to discuss it but gives
Marilyn a video tape that may or may not have evidence of the
incident. Bob and Marilyn watch the video and find evidence of
incest. Harper calls the police and the father is picked up.
Marilyn encourages Jody to talk to the police, as hard as it may be.
Lauren and Harry
Well, it seems that the two are living together.
They are still doing well and Harry even admitted that he loved her.
Now, we'll see if the romance blossoms. |
