Frances Fisher plays a nurse with dubious motives in part 1 of a gripping two-part season finale in which alien abductee Billy Miles (Zachary Ansley) resurfaces. Last seen in perfect health following his resurrection from the dead, Billy shows up at a genetics lab that Scully suspects is involved with alien babies. When an arson fire destroys the facility, Mulder enlists a reluctant Doggett to visit both the site and Scully's former obstetrician (Steven Anderson), a partner in the lab. Later, they encounter Billy, who's clearly not the man he once was. US TV Guide

In part one of the two-part season finale, long-simmering plot twists converge and details about Scully's pregnancy are revealed as Mulder, Doggett, Skinner and Reyes (guest star Annabeth Gish) must put aside their differences and work together to protect Scully's unborn child. Fox Press Release
My Rating: 10/10
An excellent episode with all the things that make The X-Files great ... the alien conspiracy, devious characters, Krycek, excellent Mark Snow music, more questions than answers, some good writing, directing and acting ... and Mulder. And at long last we see Scully's mum! As I've said before though it just highlights how much David Duchovny is going to be missed next year.

Where Have I Seen That Face Before?
Frances Fisher (Lizzy Gill), who has a child with Clint Eastwood, has appeared in movies such as "Titanic", "Gone In 60 Seconds", "Traffic", "True Crime", "Wild America", "Striptease", the brilliant "Unforgiven" (one of my all time favourites), "LA Story" and "Pink Cadillac". On TV she's had starring/recurring roles on "Becker", "The Guiding Light", "The Edge Of The Night", "Strange Luck" and "Glory Days" and also appeared on episodes of "Titus" and "Law And Order".
