What is the best way for members and non members to get in touch with CHASE SC?

Members- The best and fastest way is to email us at our address above. We are homeschooling parents and are busy homeschooling our children just like you. Phone calls are expensive and time consuming to you and us. We have three board members (the Director, Assistant Director and the Board-At-Large) that regularly check and respond to your email. Not only is email fast, and inexpensive, but it provides you and us with the written correspondence which helps you and us to thoroughly clarify what is being asked or said. Please include your membership number in the subject line of your email.

Members can call us in case of an emergency at our phone number listed above, please state that it is an emergency and what the emergency is about. We will return all calls collect.

Non-members may utilize the CHASE-SC-Information Loop, where our Senior Communications Advisor, Communication Advisors, and other board members may answer your questions.

Why did CHASE SC close down?

There are usually several reasons considered when a person or persons must make a decision, and such is the case in regard to the decision of closing CHASE SC down. The two primary reasons were Ava's health deteriation and that the Miller's were looking to adopt several children. Much pray, time, and thought went into the decision and more than 6 months notice was given to members in which full services were continued up until the school year's end date.

divider bar

Why did CHASE SC reopen?

It is CHASE SC's desire to continue assisting homeschoolers under 59-65-47 with a basic association and basic fees. Twelve years of homeschooling experience and possibly up to 15 more years of homeschooling ahead of the Millers and they would like to continue helping homeschoolers of SC while they continue to homeschool.

How is the CHASE SC Board structured?

There are a number of board members available to assist you. We have a Director, an Assistant Director, and a Board-At-Large that are all trained to handle the day to day operations of CHASE SC. The Board-At-Large serves as an assistant to the Director and the Assistant Director and is also a back up for our Director or Assistant Director when they are away on vacation, are sick, have family emergencies, or other such incidents.

The Web Master, maintains the web site for members and non-members to have easy access at their finger tips.

There is one Senior Communications Advisor, and several Communications Advisors that handle the moderating on all the CHASE SC email loops. They are available to answer your questions on the loops and regularly check the email on them.

Additionally, there are two Lifetime Founding Board-At-Large members which serve as experienced consultants and offer suggestions on policies as needed. Either position can help train new board members, process data, and answer member and non-member questions when needed.

What does CHASE SC Lifetime Membership mean to me and my family?

Lifetime membership coverage is for both parent(s)/teacher(s) listed on the CHASE SC Lifetime Membership Application Form. You will be a member for as long as you homeschool your children, foster children (as long as the law allows it, and you have DSS permission), or other children that you have been appointed by the court as the guardian.

All children listed on the application are members while in Kindergarten - 12th grades and being homeschooled. Any child/ren born, adopted, or foster child/ren placed in your home (as long as the law allows it, and you have DSS permission) after your original Lifetime Membership Application Form has been submitted, are eligible for membership. You must include them on the Yearly Statement of Completion/Update of Information and they must be in Kindergarten - 12th grades and being homeschooled.

The parent's (teacher's) Lifetime Membership does not carry over to their children. Children's membership is for the duration that they are homeschool students.

divider bar

With CHASE SC Lifetime Memberships will I ever be charged membership dues again?

No, you are applying for a Lifetime Membership that means your fee covers your membership as long as you are homeschooling your children, foster children (as long as the law allows it, and you have DSS permission), or other children that you have been appointed by the court as the guardian.

A member may be placed on probationary status for non-compliance of CHASE SC policies and/or the complete requirements of 59-65-47. The board will vote on all cases where members are placed on probationary membership status. If the member continues not to adhere to CHASE SC policies and/or the requirements of 59-65-47 during the probationary period, their membership would be terminated by the board immediately.

divider bar

How long does the membership process take?

Depending on the time of year, membership applications will be processed between 10 and 30 days from the time they were received. We can verify to any official where we are at in the process. We provide you with your Lifetime Membership Certificate, Membership Cards, and a Letter of Acceptance. As time and funds permit, the board may offer workshops, seminars, and/or classes for the homeschooling family. How is the fee so low?

CHASE SC is able to provide most services to you online and by email. By keeping most correspondence email based, we do not have to have large numbers of copies made, and we are not having to spend lots of money on postage. We do not mail out reminders, and request for additional information. Group reminders are sent to you by the CHASE-SC newsletter, and request for additional information will be sent to your email address.

Our board members are volunteers, and receive no pay for their services.

Membership fees are kept at a minimum by returning all calls to members collect. This means that members that never need us to return phone calls, will not have to pay a higher membership price. Whereas, the member needing immediate assistance by telephone will bear the expense.

These are just a few of the ways we are able to offer membership rates so low.

divider bar

Why is the CHASE SC phone number for emergencies only?

All board members are volunteers and are happy that they are able to help serve their fellow homeschoolers. However, the phone does unfortunately eat away quickly at yours and our time. We all love to talk and we know how much other folk love to talk.

By using the phone service available for CHASE SC members only, we are available to assist you in true emergencies. Using email and the US Postal service for all non emergency correspondence will save you time and money and it will save us too.

Why are phone calls returned collect?
