The Directory:

The government during the last phase of the French Revolution was known as The Directory. It consisted of five men with business interests that held the executive power in France. Ten years after the beginning of the revolution, The Directory ended because many felt that it was failing.

The ending of The Directory was the best since it was ineffectual and the people were ready for something else.

Napoleon:

Napoleon was a general and a politician of France. He was an effective ruler of France as First Consul, starting in 1799. He announced in 1804 that he would be crowned emperor which people overwhelmingly voted in plebiscite to support him. In a little more than a decade, he had acquired control of most or all of the western and centrail mainland of Europe by conquest or alliance until his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo followed shortly by capture and exile.

He brought success to France during the French Revolution and not soon after peace within France. Though the French Revolution was a failure, thanks to Napoleon its ideals spread throughout Europe.
