History

The large Thai fighter was the reigning Street Fighting champion until Ryu stole the title from him with that blasted dragon punch! The scar on his chest from Ryu's winning blow is a fateful reminder of his defeat. Seething with rage at his lost honour, Sagat developed his own form of the dragon punch, training by launching his fist against a powerful waterfall as a test. During this time, Sagat was approached by M. Bison with the promise of revenge on Ryu. Against his better judgement, Sagat joined M. Bison's army, and became his right-hand man.

Sagat's only pupil Adon has also forsaken him since his defeat, and he yearns to beat the insolent pup to submission once more in the next tournament. After, of course, regaining his title from Ryu. When he and Ryu do meet by chance on the street, he wins a close match, only to realise that Ryu threw the fight to pad Sagat's damaged ego, spouting something about the "meaning of the fight" as he wandered into the sunset. Now humiliated once more, Sagat begins training anew, and knows that this time when they meet again, only one of them will walk away.
