In 1898, a short story was written by a guy called Morgan Robertson ....about a ship named the "Titan". It collided with an iceberg and sank with a heavy loss of life. The story was called "Futility", and it closely resembled the Titanic disaster ... which only happened 14 years later.

The entire ship was fully modeled using Bryce 4 ... except cables which was modeled in Rhinoceros 3D and of course, the crowd of Poser figures ... Rendering time took approximately 293 hours -- running on a specially assembled Pentium III 500Mhz processor, on a 32 MB Diamond TNT video card with supporting 128 MB memory. (I know the rendering time is very long ..)

Ok ... here are some screenshots during the modeling:

1) upper deck
2) crane
3) whole ship
4) completed scene
