After more than twenty five years of a remarkable career Gidon Kremer has now established a reputation as a personality of unique calibre - both as a violinist and as an artist who leads music in new directions. He has worked with virtually all the great orchestras in Europe and in North America, and he has made recordings which have set new standards in interpretation. His outstandingly wide repertoire contains, besides the music of the classical and the romantic period, music by the masters of the twentieth century. He is particularly committed to contemporary composers such as Schnittke, Paert, Gubaidulina, Kancheli, Nono and Adams.
