Coordination with APA's efforts to attract and retain ethnic minorities in the profession, working with area universities, employers, and professional organizations to determine why few minorities are entering the profession, why many that get advanced degrees in planning leave the profession, and why many minority planners do not join APA or AICP.
An interest in this very important topic is needed. All members are welcome to join the Committee, as diversity of background will provide a stronger base for this Committee. The Committee does not have a regular meeting schedule determined at this time. Further coordination with the efforts of National APA will provide additional guidance as the Committee determines policies and action plans.
