Legislative and Policy Planning Committee
Chair: Lee Schoenecker
leeschoenecker@aol.com

Work with the Vice President for Policy and Legislation in the tasks of monitoring local and regional planning issues in the Washington metropolitan area, as well as pending state and federal legislation, and bringing issues to the attention of the Board for consideration and possible action. This committee provides a forum for the discussion of planning issues and action relevant to the membership and practice of planning in the region. The Committee is responsible for developing short and long range plans for implementing the adopted policies.

Committee members are needed who have an interest in these topics, which also represent a major area of support and action by National APA. This Chapter is in a unique position to not only monitor legislation of local interest, but to assist National APA with monitoring or even testifying on federal legislation that impacts the profession. Committee meetings may be held monthly, or as needed.
