Earth
Third planet in the Sol system, a class-M world located in Sector 001. Homeworld to the humanoid civilization, and location of the Federation Council and Federation President's office, as well as Starfleet Command. In 2375, Earth suffered a major attack by Breen forces when the Dominion War reached deep into the heart of Federation territory. The city of San Francisco, headquarters for Starfleet, received massive damage and loss of life from the attack, but still continues to function.
In 2376, Earth was also the target of another invasion, carried out by the elusive and deadly Vendoth. The attempt very nearly succeeded, but was thwarted by a small band of starships from the fleet that united to defend the heart of the Federation.
