The Old Buncombe Co., North Carolina video located on YouTube gives us the following history of Buncombe County: Buncombe Co. was created in 1791 and it encompassed 11 of the Western most current counties as well as parts from three other counties. It effectively became a county in April of 1792. In 1808 Haywood Co. was cut away large chunk of Buncombe Co. on the Western Edge. Then in 1833 Yancey Co. was created from part of Buncombe Co. In 1838 Henderson Co. was created and it took the Southern most part of the county. Lastly in 1851 Madison Co. took away more of the county; leaving Buncombe Co. the way it is today. Buncombe Co. is surrounded by 6 other counties: Madison Co. to the North side, Yancy Co. on the NE side, McDowell Co. on the East side, Rutherford Co. on the SE side, Henderson Co. on the South side, Transylvania Co. on the SW side, and Haywood Co. on the West side. Part I I started collecting data on the Davis clan trying to find the parents of my David Davis. My David appears to come from Uriah Davis. I looked back and found postings on a Uriah Davis in Maryland. I found his Will dated 31 Oct 1767, and proved on 01 Feb 1768 on Ancestry. What caught my eye was the children: Uriah, William, and Meshack of whom I believe I have listed here. Also there was a Solomon Davis and a Joshua Davis who appear to be the Solomon and Joshua listed in the 1800 Salisbury, Iredell Co., North Carolina Census along with Isaac and James Davis. I may be going out on a limb, but I believe many of the lines listed here are from Uriah Davis the elder in Maryland, and his wife Margaret. There are just way too many of the same names out there, so I decided to make a page so that it may help others on their search as well with the info I have. Going back to the 1st United States Census of 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina there are already several Davis families. Burke Co. was formed in 1777 from a part of Rowan Co., North Carolina. I will work on them in the order of the Census and follow that person as far as I can. Many of the Davis families that were listed in that Burke Co., Census were also in the 1800 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census. Buncombe Co. was formed in 1791 from parts of Burke Co. and Rutherford Co., North Carolina. Benjamin Davis First up is Benjamin Davis b: _____ - 1774 (per 1790 Census). His family was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census Pg 89, Line 3 (1) with 5 males 16+, 3 males under 16, and 4 females. There are many Benjamin Davis' in the 1800 Census. I did not find him in a Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census either. However, I found deeds for Benjamin Davis. On 20 Apr 1803, Benjamin purchased 50 acres of land on the south fork of Hominy Creek including his own improvement, witnessed by Hardy Hightower (232). Also a deed from Joseph Hughey to Benjamin for 150 acres of land on Sandy Mush Creek, including the lower Cane Creek on 03 Oct 1805 (2). Benjamin was also a witness to a deed between Uriah Davis and Hardy Hightower on 18 Mar 1808. On 07 Feb 1809 Benjamin (of Buncombe Co.) purchased 50 acres of land on Sandy Mush Creek from Richard Price (233). I do believe this Benjamin could possibly be a brother of Uriah Davis. If anyone knows anything about Benjamin Davis born in _____ - 1774. I would love to hear from you. Clement Davis Next up we have Clement Davis, b: 1755 (77 in 1832 Pension Records). Clement was a soldier during the Revolutionary War. He was a volunteer in the South Carolina Militia (3), when he was living in the Newberry District according to his Revolutionary War Pension records. Clement was named on a 1780 list of Petit Jurymen and Jury Men in Civil Causes (4). He married Elizabeth Fleming in Sep 1785 in Lincoln Co., North Carolina (3). Elizabeth was born in 1761 (3). Their family was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census (pg 92, line 7) with 1 male 16+, 4 males under 16, and 1 female (1). Their family was listed next in the 1800 Burke Co., North Carolina Census (pg. 12, line 9) with 2 males under 10, 2 males 10 to 16, 1 male 45+, 2 females under 10, 1 female 26 to 45 and 1 female 45+ (5). Clement purchased 100 acres of land on Turkey Creek in Buncombe Co. from Grantor Coleman Ingram on 01 Oct 1803 (6). Clement also purchased another 100 acres of land on Turkey Creek from Joseph Hughey on the same day (7). On 23 November 1809 Clement sold 100 acres of Turkey Creek to Reason Davis (8). Clement was next listed in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 3 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 45+, 1 female under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45 (pg. 135, line 14) (9). Clement sold 100 acres of Turkey Creek to Joseph Harrison including his Mill and Plantation on 15 Nov 1811 (10). On 01/25/1811 Clement witnessed a deed between Reason Davis and Nathaniel Harrison (49). On 16 Jun 1814 Clement purchased 200 acres of land on Flat Creek at a sheriff sale (11). On 25 Mar 1816 Clement sold 150 acres of land on Flat Creek to John Johnston (12).
Their family was listed next in the 1820 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 16-26, 1 male 26-45, 1 female under 10, 2 females 10-16, and 1 male 45+ (pg. 72, line 09) (13).
I believe Clement and Elizabeth were living with Thomas Davis (a son?) in the 1830 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census: Clement; 70-80 and Elizabeth; 60-70. Clement died on 30 Oct 1838 in Buncombe Co., North Carolina (3). Thomas Davis Next up we have Thomas Davis, b: 1755 - 1774 (per 1800 Census). His family was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 16+, 2 males under 16, and 1 female (pg. 93, line 22) (1). On 25 May 1797 Thomas purchased 100 acres of land on Crab Tree Creek including Thomas's improvement where he now lives - Registered on 05 Sep 1797 (234). Also, on the same day Thomas purchased 70 acres of land on the north side of Crab tree Creek near Joseph Dobson's line (235). Next Thomas and his family were listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male under 10, 1 male 26-44, and 1 female 16-25 (pg. 166, line 21) (91) On 27 Jun 1802 Thomas purchased 100 acres of land on the South fork and Big Willlow. Thomas purchased 100 acres on Jack's Creek in Buncombe Co. from Joseph Dobson on the line of Dobb's old survey on 01 Apr 1805 (14). Then on 01 Jul 1805, Thomas sold his 100 acres on Jack's Creek to Thomas Wray (15). Thomas then disappears, could be the Thomas Davis listed in the 1810 Haywood Co., North Carolina Census William Davis Next we have William Davis. William was born between 1755 - 1774 (per 1800 Census). William was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males over 16, 2 males under 16, and 2 females (pg. 97, line 22) (1). He claimed 100 acres of land in Buncombe Co. below the mouth of Beaver Dam where Richard Pawson lives on the waters of the French Broad River on 21 Apr 1795 (16). William then purchased 100 acres of land on the north east side of the French Broad River from Dempsey Fields on 11 Dec 1799 (17). William was listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males under 10, 2 males 10-16, 1 male 26-45, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-26, and 1 female 26-45 (91). On 21 Jan 1806 William purchased 300 acres of land on Stoney Fork on Hominy Creek, witnessed by Daniel Davis - Registered 22 Jan 1808 (18). William then sold 150 acres on Hominy Creek to Uriah Davis on 04 Mar 1808 (19). William witnessed a deed on 08/26/1808 between Uriah and Daniel Davis (18). William was listed next in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males 10-15, 1 male 16-25, 1 male 26-45, and 1 female 26-45 (pg. 174, line 24) (9). He sold 100 acres of land on Newfound Creek on the mouth of Beaver Dam on 11 May 1810 to John Davis (20). William was listed next in the 1820 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 16-25, 1 male 45+, 2 females under 10, and 1 female 16-25 (pg., line) (13). William purchased 100 acres of land on Warm Spring Creek on 14 Apr 1820 Reg on 08 Jun 1827 from William Murray - Joseph Dobson’s old survey was mentioned , and also mentioned was Thomas Bell’s line(259). Lastly, William purchased 50 acres of land on Spring Creek on 11/20/1821 and Reg on 03/1822, mentions Garrath/Garrett Still/Stull's home (260). Uriah Davis Next is Uriah Davis. Uriah was born 1755 - 1774 (Per 1800 Census). He married Elizabeth "Betsy" _____. On 29 Jul 1778 Uriah purchased 100 acres of land on head branches of the south Yadkin River in Rowan County, North Carolina adjoining his own property and Solomon Davis's. On 10 Oct 1783 Uriah purchased 300 acres of land on the head branch of the south Yadkin River in Rowan County, North Carolina, adjoining Solomon Davis's land. Their family was next listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 3 males over 16, 5 males under 16, and 3 females (pg. 99, line 23) (1). On 24 Sep 1793 Uriah purchased 100 acres of land on the Catawba River in Rowan County, North Carolina adjoining his own land on the East and Samuel Oxford on the West.
Also on that date Uriah purchased 50 acres of land on the head branch of the south Yadkin River near the Cedar Knobs at the foot of Big Sider Mountain in Rowan Co., North Carolina. Uriah was listed in the 1800 Salisbury, Iredell Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males 10-16, 1 male 16-26, 1 male 26-45, 2 females under 10, 2 females 10-16, and 1 female 26 to 45 (224). He purchased 395 acres of land on Hominy Creek from James Jurdain Ward on 19 Nov 1800 witnessed by George and Daniel Davis (104). April Court 1802: "A deed from Lambert Clayton to Uriah Davis for 150 acres of land was acknowledged in Open Court and Ordered to be Registered (150 acre of land on Hominy Creek joining James Jordan Wards" (105). Uriah purchased 200 acres of land from Polly Ragsdale on 01 Oct 1803 (106). On 11 Dec 1804 Uriah purchased 100 acres of land on Stoney Fork on Hominy Creek - Registered 28 Oct 1806(236). On 08 Aug 1804 Uriah sold 200 acres of land on the south fork of Hominy Creek to James Warren, witnessed by Daniel Davis - Registered on 03 Aug 1810 (222). On 02 Jul 1805 Uriah purchased 200 acres of land on the Glady Fork on Hominy Creek (107). On the same day Uriah purchased 150 acres of land on the south fork of Hominy Creek (108). Also on that same day he purchased 100 acres of land on Stoney Fork on Hominy Creek (109). On 01 Apr 1806 Uriah purchased 150 acres of land on the north bank of the Hominy Creek near Davidson's line from Hardy Hightower (110). On the same day Uriah purchased another 300 acres of land from Hardy Hightower, the land was situated on both sides of the south fork on Hominy Creek a mile above John Hightower's land (111). Next, Uriah purchased 50 acres of land on the south side of Hominy Creek adjoining his upper plantation from Hardy Hightower on 24 Aug 1807 (112), and on 25 Aug 1807 Uriah purchased another 225 acres of land on the south side of Hominy Creek adjoining Richard Hightower's line where old Ham Hightower used to live (113). On 04 Mar 1808 Uriah purchased 150 acres of land on the south fork of Hominy Creek from Hardy Hightower, witnessed by Benjamin Davis (114). On the same day he sold 150 acres of land on the Stoney Fork on Hominy Creek to William Davis, witnessed by Daniel Davis (115). On 18 Mar 1808 Uriah purchased 150 acres of land on the south fork on Hominy Creek from Hardy Hightower on the west side of a tract of land belonging to Richard Hightower (116). On 26 Oct 1808 Uriah purchased 100 acres of land on Ragsdale Creek on the south fork of the Hominy Creek (117). Uriah sold 100 acres of land on the south fork on Hominy Creek on 01 Jul 1809 to his loving son Benjamin Davis, witnessed by Daniel Davis (118). Uriah sold 150 acres of land on 31 Jul 1809 on the south side of Hominy Creek to Daniel Davis his son (119). Uriah sold 100 acres of land on 17 Dec 1810 on the main fork on Hominy Creek to George Davis witnessed by Daniel Davis (103) Note: the deed was registered on 17 Dec 1810, but written on 16 Jul 1803). Uriah died sometime after 31 Jul 1809 and before 15 Nov 1811 when Daniel and George Davis Executors of Uriah Davis sold 2 tracts of land equaling 300 acres on Glady and Stoney Fork to Benjamin Davis, John Davis witnessed on that last date. Elizabeth/Betsy was listed in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 16-26, 2 females 16-26, and 1 female 45+ (9). Elizabeth/Betsy was listed by herself as head of household in the 1820 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census at 45+ with John and Daniel Davis on each side of her (pg 118, line 26) (13). On 13 Apr 1827,what appears to be the children of Uriah, Sr. and Elizabeth Davis and their spouses; Mary and her husband Isaac Goodwin, Hannah and husband James Warren, Rachel and her husband Robert Poston, Benjamin, George, James and Daniel sold unto Uriah Davis, Jr., on both sides of South Hominy and another tract of land on the south branch of Hominy Creek except the interest and Estate of John Davis and Heirs and Martin Fulbright and wife - Not recorded until 01 Jul 1901 (214). John Davis Next is John Davis. John was born _____ - 1755 (Per 1800 Census). His family was listed in the 1790 Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina Census; John Davis, Sr. with 2 males 16 + and 3 females, living next door to Isaac Davis (pg 363, line 6) (216). Note: A John Davis was listed on a Petition on 08 May 1782 in Mecklenburg Co., North Carolina to have their families removed for safety when Charleston and Charlotte surrendered (264). John Davis that may be this John purchased 61 acres on the French Broad River in Buncombe Co. on 19 Jan 1795 between James Clemons and William Ingram's lines (Bk 2, pg 178) (21). John purchased 100 acres of land on the No. fork of the French Broad River where Hezekiah Hardgrove once lived, mentions marker IB on an oak tree (261). Possibly the John that was mentioned as operating a ferry across the French Broad near the mouth of Newfound Creek in 1798 (46). There is so much information on John Davis's that it is hard to tell which John is which. In the Census records I tried to match them up by location and ages. Deeds I tried to do the same with locations. On 06 Dec 1799 a John purchased 200 acres of land located on the west side of the French Broad River about 50 poles above Ferry Landing (237). John appears next in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 45+, 3 females under 10, 1 female 10-16, 3 females 16-26 and 1 female 26-45 (pg 166, line 15) (91). Next John was listed in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 45+, 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45 (pg 85, line 18) (9). Registered on 10 Sep 1810 John purchased 100 ac on W. side of French Broad River joining his Mill and Ferry Landing (257). On 01/09/1815 John sold 200 ac on W. side of FBR about five poles above Ferry Landing (258). On 09/12/1815 John Davis of Franklin Co., Georgia sold the 100 acres of land on the No. fork on French Broad River that was originally granted to Hezekiah Hardgrove to Zachariah Candler, mentioning the IB marker (262). A John Davis was listed in the Franklin Co., Georgia Early Tax Lists of 1819. On 11/25/1815 Reg on 08/22/1819 John Davis now of the State of Georgia sold land (unspecified) on the W. side of the French Broad River adjoining a tract on the So. side of the river called Crab Orchard to Zachariah Candler, the land once belonged to Charles McDowell (265). Baxter Davis Next is Baxter Davis. Baxter was born 1774-1784 (Per 1800 Census) or 1766-1784 (Per 1810 Census). He was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 3 males over 16 , 6 males under 16, and 1 female (pg 103, line 26) (1). On 25 Sep 1790 in Burke Co. Baxter was one of the petitioners to sign for the formation of Buncombe Co. He also served on a few jury duties in the early 1790's in Buncombe Co. as well. Next is Baxter is listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male under 10, 1 male 16-26, 2 females under 10, and 1 female 16-26 (pg. 167, line 4) (91). Baxter purchased 150 acres of land on Phillip's Creek aka Pawpaw Creek that empties onto the west side of the French Broad River next to Pine Creeks Northern Ward from John Jarrett - the land once belonged to John Phillips on 01 Jul 1803(221). Baxter purchased 150 acres of land on Flat Creek in Buncombe Co. from James Bobbet on 23 May 1801 (2). A deed from William Welsh to Baxter Davis was acknowledged in Open Court on on 01 Jul 1803 (23). A deed from John Jarrett to Baxter Davis was acknowledged in Open Court on 01 Jul 1803 (24). Baxter then purchased 120 acres of land on Flat Creek from Samuel McKenney on 01 Oct 1805 (25). On 26 Mar 1807 Baxter purchased another 100 acres of land on Flat Creek (26). Baxter sold 100 acres of land on Hays Run to Thomas Henderson on 11 Apr 1807 (27). He then sold 100 acres on Flat Creek to Thomas Dillard on 18 Mar 1808 (John Roberts corner mentioned) (28). July Session 1808 states: "Ordered by Court that Capt. Baxter Davis oversee the road from the ford of the creek above Pyburn's Old place to the top of Walnut Mountain: And that all working hands in his company that live above Job Barnard's are to work on said road" (29). Baxter was listed next in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 4 males under 10, 1 male 26-44, 2 females under 10, 2 females 10-15, and 1 female 26-44 (9). Baxter sold 200 acres of land on Flat Creek to John Roberts on 15 Nov 1811 (30). On 25 Nov 1811 Baxter sold 120 acres on Flat Creek and Ivy to Daniel Ball (31) and 150 acres of land on Flat Creek to Daniel Ball on the same day (32). Baxter purchased 100 acres of land on Bull Creek from Martha Bird on 20 Feb 1812 (33). Baxter then purchased another 50 acres of land on Bull Creek from Jordan Delk on 20 Feb 1812 (341), and 100 acres of land from Jordan Delk on 21 Feb 1812 (35). I did not find Baxter in the 1820 Census. I have seen many listings that state Baxter married Sarah Dillard and that their family migrated to Kentucky. Henry Davis Next is Henry Davis. Henry was born _____-1774 (Per 1790 Census). He was listed in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males 16+, 5 males under 16, and 3 females (pg 103, line 66) (1). Henry does not appear to have been in Buncombe Co. like the other Davis clan did from Burke Co. However, there was an H. K. Davis listed in Asheville Twp. with his Estate papers in 1802. His wife's name was Ada. The 1800 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census I will next list the Davis's that were not in the 1790 Burke Co., North Carolina Census records by name, but were in the 1800 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census records. Isham Davis Isham Davis was born 1755-1774 (06 Jan 1758 on the waters of the Pee Dee River, Cheraw Dist., South Carolina) (39). Isham purchased 50 acres on the Big Ivy where William Ramsey now lives on 16 Mar 1795 (266). He was listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co. Census with 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-45, 3 females under 10, 2 females 10-15, and 1 female 26-45 (91). Isham sold 50 acres of land on the Big Ivy in the forks of Sugar Creek to Joseph Moody on 14 Mar 1800 (36). He purchased 2 tracts of land on Ivy from Job Broughton on 01 Oct 1802 (37). Isham then purchases 15 ac of land on Little Ivy on a condition line made by John Turner and Job Broughton and John Deewes from William Carby on 14 Mar 1808 (38). Isham was listed next in the 1810 Buncombe Co. Census with 1 male under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 16-26, 1 male 45+, 2 females 10-16, and 3 females 16-26 (pg 159, line 21) (9). On 01 Jul 1819 Isham purchased two tracts of land equaling 98 acres from Thomas Braifield (162). Isham purchased 200 acres on Little Ivy River, mentioned Martin Murray’s corner on 07 Nov 1817, Reg on 30 Apr 1820 from Levi Hunt, Witness: John Davis (267). Isham and his family were next listed in the 1820 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 10-16, 1 male 45+, 1 female under 10, 2 females 16-26, and 1 female 45+ (13) Isham migrated to Macon Co., North Carolina where he and his family were listed in the 1830 Macon Co. Census with 1 male 15-19, 1 male 70-79, 1 female 40-49, and 1 female 60-69 (pg 25, line 12) (39). Isham was soldier in the Revolutionary War. His pension gives us insight into his history. According to his pension he married Winifred on 19 Sep 1783 in Edgefield Co., South Carolina, and 8 children were born to this union (40). Isham died on 30 Dec 1835 in Macon Co., North Carolina (40). It has been noted by several genalogists that Winifred's last name was Broughton, the daughter of Willoughby Broughton. John Davis John Davis was born 1755-1774 (Could be the son of John Davis. listed below him). As stated above with the other John, it is hard to tell which John is which, but I will do my best. If anyone has information on these John Davis's please contact me. His family was listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 3 males under 10, 1 male 10-16, 1 male 26-45, 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45 (pg 167, line 17). (9). John Davis John Davis was born 1755-1774, probably brother to Samuel and Isaac Davis, and if so, possibly the son of John Davis, Sr. listed above. On 19 Sep 1796 John purchased 100 acres of land on Lambs Creek on the French Broad River from Abraham Cassleman witnessed by Ebenezer Fain and Samuel Davis (217). On 17 Sep 1797 John purchased 100 acres of land from John Bradley, witnessed by Isaac Davis (218). On 23 Jun 1799 John purchased 300 acres of land on Lambs Creek on the French Broad River adjoining Ebenezer Fain's line and Jean Nail's/Neill's line - Registered on 17 Jul 1800 (219). On 22 Jan 1798, Isaac and John Davis were witnesses to a deed of Benjamin Davidson for 100 aces of land near his own line (315). On 15 Jul 1799 Issac and John Davis again were witnesses to a deed of Benjamin Davidson's for 100 acres of land on Glady Creek (316).
His family was listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 16-26, 1 male 26-45, and 1 female 16-26 (pg 167, line 18) (9). From the Buncombe Co. January 1803 Court Session: "A Bond from Abraham Casselman & Ebenezer Fain to Samuel and John Davis was proved in open court by Lambert Clayton one of the subscribing witnesses hereunto and ordered to be recorded...(300 acres on Lambs Creek) (41). On 08 Feb 1808 a deed from John Davis to Saml Davis for 100 acres of land was proved by Mary Davis and ordered to be registered (161). John was listed next in the 1810 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 45+, 2 females -10, and 1 female 26-45 (pg. 269, line 18) (9). On 08 Feb 1813 John sold 100 acres of land to Samuel Davis, Isaac and Mary Davis witnessed the deed - Reg on 14 July 1824. (44). None of the John's in the 1820 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census records matched the age of this John. Samuel Davis Samuel Davis was born 1755 (Find A Grave) in North Carolina, probably brother to John Jr., and Isaac. His family was listed in the 1800 Morgan, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-45, 1 female under 10, and 1 female 26-45 (pg 167, line 12) (9). From the Buncombe Co. Samuel's land was mentioned in a deed of Isaac Davis on 30 Nov 1810 on Lamb's Creek, along with David Haddon's (92). On 08 Feb 1813 John sold 100 acres of land to Samuel Davis, Isaac and Mary Davis witnessed the deed - Reg on 14 July 1824. (44). On 01 Oct 1819 Samuel purchased 26 acres of land (unspecified) from George C. Neill (42). I could not find Samuel in the 1820 Census records. Samuel may have migrated to South Carolina for some time before returning to Buncombe Co., North Carolina. Samuel Davis of Pendleton Dist., SC, sold 116 acres of land to George Hefner on 24 Feb 1823 (43). Samuel was listed next in the 1830 Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male 30-40, 1 male 70-80, and 1 female 70-80 (pg 222, line 28) (39). Samuel Davis, Sr. sold 390 acres of land on the French Broad River to Ethan Davis on 22 Oct 1831 Reg on 13 Apr 1832 (45). According to Find A Grave, Samuel married Rhodia Davidson, daughter of Benjamin and Ann Davidson. He died in 1844 in Temple, Carroll Co., Georgia.
