Washington Davis, born 1812 in North Carolina (Per 1850 Census) son of John Davis and Margaret Waggoner. He was listed in the 1840 Southern Division, Buncombe Co., North Carolina Census with 1 male -5, 1 male 20-30, 1 female -5, 1 female 5-10, and 1 female 20-30 (pg. 165, line 08) (59). Washington was mentioned in both his father John and Margaret's Wills. On 27 Sep 1844 (Reg. on 27 Sep 1845), William Davis and family along with his siblings; Elizabeth Fox and family, Margaret Cook and family, James Davis, and Martha Davis sold 100 acres of land on Reems creek to 'Washington, mentions No. West corner of 500 acres of land once belonging to Jacob Waggoner and granted to their father John Davis (282). On that same day again, William and siblings sold 100 acres of land on Reems creek to their brother James Davis on the No. East side of the French Broad River opposite the mouth of Newfound Creek on Reems Creek, including the house and plantation where John Davis deceased lived (283). On 04 Nov 1845 Washington and his siblings sold 100 acres of land on Reems Creek to their brother William (290).
