Barret Wallace
Barret is the leader of AVALANCHE. A resistance group that fights against the Shinra for preservation of the planet. Although Barret is very strong, he's not very bright. Often using brute force instead of clever tactics. He lost his arm when the Shinra attacked his home village of Corel. Now he crafted a gun on his arm.
Barret's Limit Breaks

Level 1
Big Shot
Barret charges his gunarm and fires a big ball of power.
Mind Blow
Barret shoots a blue blast to one enemy which drains Mp.
Level 2
Grenade Bomb
Barret fires a grenade which deals lots of damage.
Hammerblow
Barret removes an enemy from battle.
Level 3
Satellite Beam
A satellite locks on all enemies and fires laserbeams.
UngerMax (AngerMax on PC version)
Barret fires rapidly on all enemies.
Level 4
Catastrophe
Barret jumps in the air and fires a constant beam of power.
How to get Catastrophe

Go to North Corel (Barret's home town) after you stopped the train from smashing it. Go to the tent on the left and talk to the woman with the hat. She will give you the limit break.

Barret's Ultimate Weapon

Barret's best weapon is the Missing Score. To get it, you must get Barret in your party after you've defeated ProudClod in Midgar on disc 2. You'll climb the stairs of the Sister Ray. When Barret is in your party, you'll find a chest containing the Missing Score. Otherwise, you'll won't find the chest.

Battle Tips

Setting speed

Remember that you can always adjust the speed of the battles. Go to the menu screen and select "Config". You can also select the order of materia use.

Pre-emptive Attacks

Sometimes, the enemies start behind your back. To quickly turn and lower their attacks press and hold the L and R buttons for a fraction of a second. Then let go. The characters will start running, but quickly turn around to face the enemy. Use the "9 and 3 key for PC version.

The Battle Arena

In the Gold Saucer is the Battle Arena. Here you can fight to earn Battle points. These points can be exchanged for good prizes. To fight, simply talk to the lady at the counter and pay 10 Gp to enroll. You'll have to face 8 enemies alone. If you win, you'll get Battle points. But after each round you'll get handicaps which make it harder to fight.
