Huddersfield Guild of Assassins

Rules

These have been kept to a minimum, but some are necessary to preserve your homicidal pleasure. It is important everybody keeps to these rules, though you are welcome to be as Machiavellian and evil as you like within these limits. Particularly, it is important that you are honest and admit it if you are killed without witnesses, otherwise the game could become very frustrating.

The game begins at a particular time on a set date and continues until everyone is dead except an overall winner. Any deaths which take place before this time are considered invalid.

Each member can only kill someone who is their designated victim at that stage in the game. A deliberate attempt on the life of any other circle member will result in disqualification. Any accidental or incidental deaths are not considered valid deaths for the purposes of this game.

If you have been killed, it is up to you to mention the fact immediately to the Umpire and subsiquently any member of the circle you communicate with.

It is allowable to murder someone by proxy - by hiring or otherwse persuading an assassin to do it for you. However, because of the rule about targets, the assassin may not be in the circle themself. Ex-members are permitted to carry out such services.

A member who has been killed must not reveal the identity of his or her former victim to anyone, as otherwise the new victim could find out who their new murderer is.

Blackmail, kidnapping, seduction, burglary, fraud, corruption, treachery and other morally suspect activities are all fine pursuits and perfectly allowabl by the rules.

The use of guns knives and simmilar weapons are to be discouraged as they are dull, uninteresting and show a lack of imagination.

In the case of ambiguities in the rules or methods of murder, the Umpire, or else a consensus of the players, will resolve the matter. In all cases the style and spirit of the game are to take presidence over the letter of the rules. A particularly stylish murder taking lots of effort, which could be interpreted by a pedantic adherence (ooh, big words!) to the rules as being illegal, should be allowed on its merits.
