This is how I remember my Mother throughout most of my own childhood. She was married on June 18, 1946...this was also my Dad's birthday.

I was born on April 29,1947...they really didn't have a lot of time together before I came along.Then my brother..Clancy Roy Thompson, was born August 22, 1950.

We lived in a coal camp for the first 12 years of my life and then we had a house built...and we lived in that house the rest of our lives together and up til the time that everything started to go so wrong for us all.

We were always so happy and such a close knit family. I guess til Dad died the worse thing to happen to us was when my brother went to Viet-Nam as a Marine...we were all so proud........and so scared !!!

After he came home for good he and his girl friend and me and my boy friend all got married in a double ceremony on June 13, 1970.

It wasn't for quite a few years after that we discovered that Dad had prostate cancer and even after the surgery for this everything seemed OK... it was about 5 years later that we found out that the cancer had spread to his bones; and the medications and radiations used to treat this eventually proved too much.
