• I have started revising some of my Starfarer documents. It seems that my current formats are not suitable for a large portion of my potential audience; little as I like it, market forces have made MS Word the prevailing document format. However, WordPerfect9 publishes directly to Adobe Acrobat PDF file format, so I will be making Starfarer available in .pdf. I will be phasing out the HTML versions. My apologies to HTML fans out there, but I find it too difficult to keep HTML documents synchronized with my own WPD docs, escpecially considering how clumsily tables translate into HTML. Check out the new PDF rules and character sheets on the Starfarer page.
• Version 1.56b of Aina's Stargen is out. The new version has a much improved Empire Generator, as well as an "Alternative Stargen" that allows GMs to take a more active role in creating a sector of space. Check it out!
• I'm toying with an easier to navigate frames version of this page - stay tuned!

• If you have not checked out Aina's Stargen page recently (or ever!), I recommend you go there and check it out. His new version 1.56a is 32 bit/Win9X/NT, and it rocks. It has an empire creator that runs simulations of expansions of Starfaring alien races into space, and he now has an exporter that allows you to export your sector and view them in ChView, also a long time resident link on this page!

• I have uploaded some notes I have on the Guild Space setting for Starfarer. This background is still very much under construction, so there is lots left to be done, and some of the HTML is pretty basic:

But considering this is one of my favorite SFRPG efforts on the web, I am very excited about the possibility!
• Speaking of Free RPGs on the web, I would like to recommend Unlce Bear's Free RPG page. It has links to about every Free RPG effort on the web, with many reviews. If you like playing homebrews, getting idea from them, or are just sick and tired of the price you have to pay for roleplaying material nowadays, this is the place for you! Good stuff!

• Stargen - a freeware system generation program. Vastly improved from previous versions -- and free! For the first time, I can honestly say you are much better off saving your money and not buying Astrologicus. With his new Win9X/NT based program, you can generate sectors of space replete with detailed star systems and alien races. Plus it has new utilities to create empires from your newly rolled alien races in your newly rolled sector, and one to allow you to view your sectors using ChView (see below). A must for any serious SFRPG GM -- this one is a real time and work saver!
• Ragamuffin - An online SFRPG background that covered a lot of the same ground we did on the NetSF design group (dare I say that they got further than we did?) Interesting reading!
• ChView - A star display utility made by fans of the well-known and regarded SF author, CJ Cherryh. Includes data files for actual stars.
• The "Quick & Dirty FAQ" for the rec.arts.sf.science newsgroup. An interesting guide to a variety of fascinating subjects.

• Irony Games - A group of the best on-web RPG utilities for the lazy (i.e., clever) GM.
