Deccan Horse is one of Indian's prestigious Cavalry units. Raised during the time of the Hyderabad Nizam, this unit has always been commended for its gallantry.

Grenadiers

Grenadiers regiment originally raised by the British had played a very good and courageous role in the Kargil war. Two of its regiments were involved in this fights and they got unit citations for their acts of gallantry. NCOs of this regiments were also awared the highest gallantry medal - the Param Vir Chakra.

The official site for the Indian Armed Forces, maintained by the National Informatics Center. This is a site still in its infancy and lots of information needs to be added in. They have some good pictures of the officers in uniform. But nothing is mentioned about the JCOs and Other Ranks.

Research & Analysis Wing (RAW)

Here is a site which has some information about India's espionage agency, the RAW. Espionage is one work in which publicity is avoided, and so this site cannot give indepth analysis on the agency. More over this site is not the official site of RAW. But it is good to have a reading of the articles written here.

These include pictures of the caps worn by police men in various parts of the world, the police patrol cars. There is also a Grotesque picture gallery which has photographs of dead bodies. Some of them will really scare people off, but that is what the cops see on a regular basis.

The Electric Chair

This is the official web site of the Southern Railway. They have a good and efficient site, for searching trains and Time tables. Passengers can also check for the ticket availability.

National Railway Museum

This site gives some information regarding the Railway Museum in Delhi. The Musuem has a large collection of old Locos and Signalling instruments, but the web site does not have much information in these aspects. It only says about the working and facilities at the Railway Museum. So, would be Engine- drivers and Signal Men, this is not the site for you.

A site you should visit. It has a good artistic lay out and has some good information for the railway fans. You are taken in as a visitor to a Railway Signal Box, and here you can find detailed information on the British Railway Signalling, and the operation of the block instruments. The Web Master (the cabin man - I should say), also publishes short articles concerned with the Railways. You can also contribute your own articles.
