I joined school in the year 1980 as Roll No: 50. Hari Sri Vidya Nidhi (HSVN for short), was founded in the previous year, and so mine was the second batch. The school is affiliated to the Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE) and follows the Plus-2 System. I completed the whole of my schooling from here. My service record in the school was for 14 years!
The active part of my school life started from 9th standard on-wards. Until then I was a silent and shy boy. During my 9th, my friends realised that I was a treasury of old Movie Songs. Our class always insisted on going for excursions, and it was then that I revealed my true colours. The bus journeys were the most enjoyable part. We sang and danced the whole way. During the Antakshari competitions my team successfully managed to outshine the others. In the year 1992, I completed my 10th standard and joined for the Plus-2 course. Most of my class mates too joined the same school. I opted for the Commerce stream and the total strength of our batch (Science and Commerce) was just 24. But the 24 of us were just one team. Whether it was serious business or making fun of teachers, our batch stood as a team.
My friends from other schools, boasted of their school life which had a good number of strikes, misused uniform etc. In HSVN politics was a taboo, and neatly maintained uniform was compulsory. But still we enjoyed our school life. All good things must come to and end, and by 1994 we completed our studies and now had to leave the school. The principal declared that our batch was the most united one, and whenever a function was organised, we were sure to put up the maximum effort. This was the best compliment we were ever to recieve. We all went to different colleges to continue are studies. 7 long years have passed, and you will find a batchmates of mine in various roles, as house wives & mothers, IAF Pilot, as a merchant navy officer, as an Air line Staff and software professionals too. But I am sure that all of us will have fond memories of the school life and our batch. Click here to view the Hari Sri Alumni Registry at www.batchmates.com |
