After you have made wudu and said the words of witness you are now ready to offer your salah prayer.

FAJR

1. Make silent intention of the prayer. Example- "I intend to offer two Rikat of Fard, Fajr prayer for Allah".

Raising both hands up to the ears say "Allah u Akbar" which means("Allah is the greatest")

2. Next position is assumed by holding the left hand with the right hand on top and following prayers are recited: Thana (or Sana):

Say "Subhanaka Allah humma wa bihamdika, wa tabaraka ismuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuk"

Which Means

"Praise and glory be to you O Allah. Blessed be Your Name, exalted be Your Majesty and Glory. There is no God but You"

  1. Tasmiah: Say "Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Raheem" Which means "In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful."

 

      4. Say  Al-Fatihah or The First Opening Chapter of the Quran

        "Al hamdu lil-lahi rabb'il ala-meen.

         Ar-rahmani-r-raheem.

         Maliki yawmi-d-deen.

         Iyya-ka nabudu wa iyya-ka nasta een.

         Ihdinas sirata al-mustaqeem.

         Siratal ladhina an'amta alai-him,

        ghai-ril maghdubi alaihim, wa lad-daa-leen. (Aameen)

 

      Which means  "In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

      All Praise is due unto Allah,

     The Creator, Cherisher and Sustainer of all that exists

      The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful;

      Master of the Day of Judgment.

     Thee (Alone) do we worship, and Thine aid (Alone) do we seek.

     Show us the straight way,

    the way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace and Favor, 

    not the way of Those who have deserved your wrath and anger

    nor the way of those who have gone astray." Ameen

  1. A short Suras: Read just one: First unit A, and Second unit B.

A. Al-Kawthar

: Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Raheem.

Inna a'taina kaal-Kawthar.

 Fasalli Li Rabbi-ka waan-har.

 Inna shaa'niaka huwal abtar.

Which means

 " To thee have We granted the Fount (of Abundance).

Therefore to thy Lord turn in Prayer and Sacrifice. For

he who hateth thee, he will be cut off (from Future

Hope)."

B. Al-Ikhlas (The sincerity):

 Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Raheem.

Qul huwa-a-llahu ahad.

 Allahu-s-samad.

Lam Yalid wa lam yulad.

 Wa lam yaku-l lahu kufuwan ahad.

Which means

 "Say: He is Allah, the One!

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.

 He Begetteth not, nor is He begotten.

 And there is none like unto Him.

6. Saying "Allah u Akbar" and go into ruku. (Hands to knees and bend down or bow"

Say "Subhana rabbi yal azeem" 3 time or more odd number

 Which means"Glorified is my Lord, the Great"

7. While going back to standing position the first prayer is said. Then having taken this position the second prayer is said:

While raising self from bowing position back to standing upright

 say "Sami-a-Allah hu-liman hamidah"

Which means

"Allah listens to him who praises Him"

Then raise hands and arms upward sayinf "Rabbana lakal hamd"

Which means "Our Lord, praise be for you only"

8. Saying "Allahu Akbar" ("Allah is the greatest") kneel down with knees on floor placing forehead on ground this is called prostration or sujood when in this position say the prayer below (three times).

"Subhana rabbi-yal a'la" 3 times

Which Means"Glory to Allah, the Exalted".

  1. Saying "Allahu Akbar" rise from the Sujood position and sit.

     10. While sitting say "Rabb igh firlee wa hamnee"

    Which means "Oh my Lord Please forgive me and be merciful to me"

Saying "Allahu Akbar" go back to the sujood position and recite:

"Subhana rabbi-yal a'la" (three times) (go to step 13 if this is 2nd rakah, continue if this is 1st rakah)

This completes one rakat or unit of prayer.

11. Saying "Allahu Akbar" the position of qiyam/standing is assumed once again to begin the second rakah.

12. Follow steps 3-10 (at step 5, recite the different sura now)

13. Saying "Allahu Akbar" assume the sitting posture and recite the "Tashahud":

"At-Tahiyyatu Lillahi Was Salawatu. Wat-Tayyibatu. As-Salamu 'Alika Ayyu-han-nabiyyu. Wa Rahmatul-lahi Wa Barakathu. Assalamu 'Alaina Wa 'Ala 'Iba-dil-lahis Salihin"

(After that raise your right index finger as you recite the next part)

"Ash Hadu An La-ilaha illal Lahu Wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasuluhu""All our oral, physical and monetary ways of worship are only for Allah. Peace, mercy and blessing of Allah be on you, O Prophet. May peace be upon us and on the devout slaves of Allah. I testify that there is no God but Allah and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and messenger".

  1. "Prayer for the prophet/darood":

Alla-humma salli ala Muhammadin wa-ala ali Muhammadin kama sallaita'ala Ibrahima wa-ala ali Ibrahim innaka hamidun majid. Allahumma barik-ala Muhammadin wa-ala ali Muhammadin kama barakta'ala Ibrahima wa-ala ali Ibrahima innaka hamidun majid.

"O God send your Mercy on Muhammad and his posterity as you sent Your mercy on Abraham and his posterity. You are the Most Praised, The Most Glorious. O God, send your Blessings on Muhammad and his posterity as you have blessed Abraham and his posterity. You are the Most praised, The Most Glorious".

Having said the above mentioned prayers, turning the face to the right. This following prayer is read:

"Assalam u a'laikum wa rahmatu Allah". "Peace and mercy of Allah be on you".

Then turning the face to the left, the prayer above is said again:

"Assalam u a'laikum wa rahmatu Allah". "Peace and mercy of Allah be on you".
