New arrivals. . . .

Twin kids were born Monday, March 19th, 2001, between noon and 1:30 p.m. Mom is a black and white Alpine nanny goat, and dad is a pale blonde Nubian-cross, so one kid is blonde with Nubian ears and the other is dark brown with Alpine ears, black legs and black dorsal line.

Since these "kids" were born just as Spring was "springing," I named them Spring--for the blonde one--and Baby--for the smaller one--in the order they were born. And here they are! First, is "Spring," a little buck, about an hour old, then "Baby" arrived, and is about 20 minutes old here.

And here's our mom, a big black and white Alpine. She's a terrific mom, and has sooo much rich, warm milk for us! Here, we're still just a couple hours old, a little unsteady on our feet, but we can talk!

One morning, our owner found us sound asleep inside the five-gallon pickle bucket she used to feed mom some freshly-cut grass. A "bucketful-o'-kids" you might say!

...so that night when we went to bed, we found she had nailed a cardboard box to the wall, and filled it with fresh hay, so we could be "box buddies". It sure was comfy.

Would you like to see our "big sister, Pebbles," now nine months old? Well, here she is, and boy, is she crazy about us!. . . .

NOTE: Due to hip-replacement surgery after a fall in December, 2001, I no longer have any of my goats pictured on this site, as I found I could not care for them with my physical disability. However, I just could not delete these photos and excerpts from my pages! Memories are so precious....

And, last, but not least, mustn't forget our Daddy Rockie, at age two, all dressed up in his winter "finery!" It's a little blurry, cuz he was a lonnnng ways off, and the camera had to zoom way-y-y out there. He's pretty proud of us, too, by the way!

Hope you enjoyed your stroll through our lush green pasture, and if you'd like, you can write to us in the Guest Book at the bottom of our Home Page. See you all again soon! Baaa-a-a-a-a!
