Alaska is just magnificent & any number of words I write would not do justice to the real Alaska ! One has to really experience the beauty of Alaska be it the snow-capped huge mountain peaks or the frozen lakes or the glaciers or the wild life. 

Anchorage is the capital city of Alaska. After a long flight for about eight hours from Cincinatti passing through Salt Lake City we landed at Anchorage. Alaska being so cold throughout the year I really did not expect to see many people living there. To my surprise Anchorage is not all that thinly populated & it is quite a bustiling city in its own right even though it may not be comparable to any of the other modern cities of mainland USA.

We spent a couple of days going around Anchorage & then took a trip to Seward by van. The journey was terrific as all along we were driving through snow capped mountains & lakes. We also got an opportunity to catch up with some of Alaskan wildlife on the way. However the best part started only from Seward where we took a boat ride into the sea to see the glaciers & other wildlife on the Ocean. The ride was again magnificent passing through mountains & on the way we saw the great American bald Eagles, Seals, Alaskan mountain sheep etc. The high point of the ride was ofcourse the glacier ! Even though we could not get really close the glacier was an amazing sight indeed ! It is one sight which I can never forget !
