Cloud Strife

Cloud is the main character of Final Fantasy VII. He was born and raised in Nibelheim. Later he joined SOLDIER. A special division of Shinra's private army. But he quitted and travels the world as a mercenary, taking on any job. If the price is right.

Cloud's Limit Breaks

Level 1

Braver
Cloud runs towards one enemy, jumps and slashes the enemy with one fierce blow

Cross Slash
Cloud runs towards one enemy and marks it. The mark dissolves and deals damage.

Level 2

Blade Beam
Cloud charges his sword and swings it causing a beam hit the opponent splitting up and dealing damage to other opponents as well.

Climhazzard
Cloud thrusts his sword in one enemy and slices it.

Level 3

Meteorain
Cloud jumps and swings meteors to the enemies.

Finishing Touch
Cloud holds his sword high and creates a vortex often obliterating the enemies.

Level 4

Omnislash
Cloud attacks the opponents in a blaze of glory, hitting the enemies about 15 times. This attack if used with the Ultima sword is the most powerful in the game. (About 150.000 damage)

How to get the Omnislash

To get the Omnislash you must go with Cloud to the Battle Arena. The arena is located in the Gold Saucer. Battle your way in the arena until you have 32.000 battle points. Exchange these points at the counter to get the Omnislash. (Note that the Omnislash is 51.200 battle points on disc 1) You can get battle points by beating more and more enemies. Each round in the arena will become harder. And to make it worse each time a slot machine randomly adds a handicap to your status. But the more handicaps you have the more battle points you get should you survive.

Cloud's Ultimate Weapon

Cloud's best weapon is the Ultima sword. This sword can do a lot of damage if Cloud's Hp is high. To get it, you must defeat Ultimate WEAPON. Check the Bosses section on how to defeat this WEAPON.

Battle Tips

Setting speed

Remember that you can always adjust the speed of the battles. Go to the menu screen and select "Config". You can also select the order of materia use.

Pre-emptive Attacks

Sometimes, the enemies start behind your back. To quickly turn and lower their attacks press and hold the L and R buttons for a fraction of a second. Then let go. The characters will start running, but quickly turn around to face the enemy. Use the "9 and 3 key for PC version.

The Battle Arena

In the Gold Saucer is the Battle Arena. Here you can fight to earn Battle points. These points can be exchanged for good prizes. To fight, simply talk to the lady at the counter and pay 10 Gp to enroll. You'll have to face 8 enemies alone. If you win, you'll get Battle points. But after each round you'll get handicaps which make it harder to fight.
