ChIME:
Christian Initiation and Music Education
3rd through 12th grades

May 6/7 after all Liturgies we will hold registration for Religious Education. Children and youth will have the option to participate in one of the two ChIME programs. They both offer an opportunity to minister through music at various liturgies and special events throughout the year and participate in the religious education curriculum: Living the Good News. A Pilgrimage to a holy place is scheduled each year. Participants who have completed their religious education through Summer or Homeschool Loreto or Catholic School are welcome to join in only the ChIME ministry of music.

Participation in this program fulfills all of the requirements for religious education. It is strongly recommended that families participate in the parish family events offered throughout the year to supplement our young people's religious formation.

Students will meet from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesdays beginning in October. The final class meeting will be before Easter. ChIME is divided into two groups, grades 3-5 sing together as ChIME I and grades 6-12 sing together as ChIME II. Each student will receive an hour of religious education and an hour of music practice. Classes will be held in the school building and music practice will be held in the church.

The fee schedule for all School Year and Home Education Programs is $25/1 person, $50/2 people, $65/3 or more people per family participating. Non-parishioners add $25/person. Non-parishioners must submit a written letter for their parish's MRE acknowledging his/her approval for the family to receive religious formation outside of their parish.
