Episode IV: A New Hope
Picking up about 20 years after Episode III, A New Hope is the story of Anakin Skywalker's son, Luke. Luke has been raised by his Uncle Owen who is very protective of him and don't want him to turn out the way his father did.
When a diplomatic courier ship from the planet Alderaan is fired upon and boarded by Imperial troops, Princess Leia takes the plans for the Empire's ultimate weapon, the Death Star and places them inside R2-D2, an astromech droid. Immediately following, Leia is captured by the Empire and brought before Darth Vader for questioning.
R2 and his counterpart C-3PO crash land on the planet of Tatooine where R2 begins his mission. The pair are intercepted by some scavengers in the desert and are sold to Owen, where Luke stumbles across a message from Leia while cleaning him. The droid takes off and completes his search for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Luke, Obi-Wan, R2, and 3PO head to Mos Eisley to find transport to Alderaan and find Han Solo, a smuggler who has a hefty price on his head from Jabba the Hutt. Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca agree to fly them, but while in flight Alderaan is destroyed by the Death Star and they are captured by the Empire.
Stealing some uniforms, Han and Luke boldly head out in the Death Star Space Station to rescue the Princess. They succeed in rescueing her, but lose Obi-Wan in a Lightsaber duel with Darth Vader.
The fourth chapter in the Star Wars Saga is a coming of age adventure story that introduces the second generation of Star Wars heroes.
